Hey kids.
Yesterday I saw some complaints about how the accounts market works. More specifically, value inflation. Many users on the site have posted their accounts for sale at an inflated value based on the value of other accounts for sale of inflated value. My proposal is to create an account Ticker system.

How the system would work is very similar to how the current system works, the seller could put in a BIN or estimated value of their account, based on their own thoughts and research. Then, once the account is put up for sale, the 2 boxes are added to the bottom of the page, like in the mock up I created below.

The Account Valuation box would allow users who have been granted access to the Private OGs forum to place a valuation on the account. I suggest putting a restriction on who can put a value on an account in to prevent inexperienced users from disproportionately valuing accounts.

The community sourced valuation would be based on a fix criteria. What does the user submitting the value believe a fair, agreeable BIN value would be. The submitted values would be averaged and displayed along with the discrepancy between the seller submitted BIN and the Community BIN.

The goal of the feature is to bring down the value in accounts that are not being sold to prevent accounts with buyers who want to sell their accounts from overpricing, and not selling their account. Lower prices will increase the activity of the market and drive users back to the platform in hopes of being able to purchase an account for a cheaper amount due to the price drop this will surely cause.

Please respond with feedback on how to better work the community sourced appraisals box to maximize the likelihood of an account being sold. Thanks!

An intellectual asset is only as valuable as the buyer is willing to pay. Adding said system could reduce the amount people are willing to pay as they have a secondary-or let’s say an array of minds-some that are biased and manipulative.

While it would benefit the consumer, it takes money out of circulation from the market which’ll expedite its degradation, however that’s assuming manipulation isn’t at play.

It’s like financial advise. You’d prefer to tell someone to buy the stocks your company owns.

If a person is selling an account, it's up to them how much they want to sell it for, and I don't see why it's necessary for users to insist that their sale price is wrong if they don't want that feedback.

If you're selling a minecraft account and you aren't sure how much you want to sell it for, then make an appraisal thread for advice and then use that advice given. If I have an account that's really precious and has sentimental value to me so I'm not going to sell it for cheap, then I don't care whether other people think it's overpriced or not.

If I want to sell an account for $400 because I think it's worth that amount and someone purchases it for $400, then why does the community's input actually matter with that? Community-sourcing for whether an account is OG or Semi is a fair idea, but I feel like having the community announce their own price is a step too far.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
