Hello,

We have noticed that many members break rules inside the account section.
I thought it woud be a good idea to require members to fill in a form to sell a account.
This would make the section look a lot cleaner and it would decrease the amount of rulebreaking posts (for example selling a unmigrated account).

Here's a screenshot of a form we'd like to implement.
accountsaleform.png
The account categories would be"OG Accounts" and "Special Accounts".
Once the user submits the form, it will post it in the appropriate section with the username being sold as the title.

I also think all accounts should require mclaim.net verification. Simply because this would verify the ownership of a account.

Again, if you're going to vote against mclaim.net verification or this form system in general, tell us why below.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Personally, I think OG shops shouldn't be allowed at all. If people want to sell accounts, they just sell each one individually.[DOUBLEPOST=1454774181,1454774149][/DOUBLEPOST]
You do know you only have to use MClaim ONCE and then you can copy and paste the link. It's not a hassle.

Except that people like Nagi would have to make 200+ threads for every single account and it would be a huge hassle and would clutter up the section.

That's why I thought it would be good to either grant the Shop tag to reputable sellers or to make a little spot under the title where usernames +mclaim links go.

It wasnt working the last few times. Might have been a few bugs that were fixed. It works now
Mojang's servers are sometimes a little slow to update.
If this happens to you, instead of waiting 60 seconds just wait a few more minutes before pressing submit.
(It's a lot better solution than us increasing the wait timer to 5 minutes for everybody if it doesn't happen too often).

Yeah, I don't mind doing that if *cough cough* tjrgg *cough cough* would lift the botting rule T_T

But in all honestly, this is a terrible idea. It defeats the purpose of having a sticky and cluster up the accounts section even more.

There's like a comment in the accounts section like once every second. Competition is intense and having 1 thread / account wouldn't even let your accounts be noticed.

A form is unnecessary. A form disallows users from being able to customize their thread and make it look the way they want to. Honestly, I'd like to suggest that we keep it as it is, but just impose specific requirements of the thread (verification on MClaim, etc).

I like this idea but:
1: I wouldn't like to see shops go as Doge said.
2: There are some accounts which would be best left out of mclaim. I remember talking to the owner of "Herobrine" on twitter, and when he put his account on mclaim, everyone freaked out. I'm sure I don't have to state why this would be a huge problem if an account of this caliber was sold and proof was on mclaim. Same with 2-letters, and other super OGs. I wouldn't want Marc IP/email checking an account he sees was put on mclaim. For example Herobrine or "ok"

Also, my friend kept getting errors when he tried to verify "er" on there, so Rocket had to verify him manually.
Just because an account is put on MClaim, doesn't mean the account is being sold. There isn't enough evidence with MClaim alone to support something like that. I put my account on there, but I'm not selling it. ;)

It's not that it's enough proof to being sold, but let's say for example a Mojang employee sees the account on there *coughcoughyouknowwhoimtalkingabout* and decides to check logs for IP and email changes. It can provide incentive for him to dig around. That's how the account "L" was deleted back in january/feb
I suppose that might be true. That doesn't change the fact that MClaim is a safe way (not a fool-proof, but safe) to verify account ownership. While I don't expect the requirement alone to reduce scams all that much, it's a step in the right direction.

Should definitely implement this. Will, with no doubt, reduce the amount of scammers. :)

I disagree with that. It may reduce the amount of scamming a little, but it won't be all that significant.

Well if a person submits it without valid proof of the mclaim certificate, its obvious they are a scammer. How will it not reduce scammers?

Because asking for proof before buying an account from a low reputation user should already be basic knowledge.
If you cannot take the initiative to take that step, it's your own fault for getting scammed.
Implementing a resource that only allows 1 account every thread will only create a hassle for shops as they would have to verify each and every one of their accounts.

This sounds like a good idea to me, we would know for sure who owns what as well.

All MClaim really does is verify that a user has full access to the account they are selling. It doesn't prevent the account from being taken back, which is generally what the scammers do.

Awful idea. People (including me) like to make their threads pretty and nice (and maybe a thread design). The makes everything boring. Soon we will have server forms, then discussion forms :( Also then theres the giant problems of shops.
