Accounts Moderator

So nowadays I’m seeing complete idiots listing accounts like Flxme and Hemtai that weren’t deleted from the Accounts selling section, they have no Relation with OG or Semi-OG.

Back when Doge was a moderator the section was relatively clean and all bullshit posts were deleted. Now that he’s gone anyone can get away with anything.

I strongly believe we need a sole moderator who has experience in the community and would be active enough to montior the section, not some tard who joined in 2018 - 2019 but someone who has been here a long time like Glove or asa. Or just consider Doge his position back because ever since then the site has gone pretty downhill.

Asa would be great for this if hes still using this forum actively hes got great knowledge of the forum and knows very well about account selling + everyone knows him. Not gonna recommend myself since I know certain staff would throw a riot if I got near a staff team. If doge is willing to come back and Mick will take him that would also be great

Was about to make a suggestion just like that lol. I don't think any of the current moderators / chat-moderators have enough experience in the market since almost all of them don't look at accounts too often, and they're on another part of the forum.

With that said I think you should hire a well known community member or Doge (as you suggested)

Thanks for mentioning me, however even if I were to be offered my position back, I’ve been way too busy to have time to take care of things on this forum. I barely even have time to reply to messages, even those from friends. I also found more profitable things that take little involvement and don’t require this forum, which is also why I don’t come here as often.

On top of this, if simple things like setting up an image proxy or moving to a new server can’t be done in a timely manner or handled properly by the highest level of management, what does this say about how being a part of such a team will be like? It doesn’t look very appealing.

You’re right that there is very little to no moderation of the OG/semi sections and it’s very dissapointing to see them in such a state. I feel like someone who knows a lot about OGs would’ve been selected from the rounds of applications, but the issue is that the person has to be both active and mature, and based on personal experience, OG sellers have a disproportionate amount of toxic/immature people. I still know a lot of people who aren’t this way, but I’ve seen a lot of shit as well, legit teens with the mentality of young children and it’s very unfortunate but obviously MCM doesn’t want such people to represent them.

Kram has reached out to me and I provided him as much knowledge/tips for moderating the account section as I could and he did take down a decent amount of threads, but I take it he is busier now + it seems like an overwhelming amount of these threads get posted and it will only get worse as time goes on.

So I believe this is a matter of finding someone who meets all requirements to be selected, some basic ones being: maturity, availability and experience. That limits the pool a lot honestly.

One possible alternative though is to make threads in these sections require approval before becoming public, but this would require someone to approve all these in a timely manner and also be able to properly gauge the quality of accounts, so this may not be feasible. But there needs to be some deterrent to prevent people from posting shitty accounts. Mine was to lock the thread and say something like “regular accounts arent allowed to be sold, thread locked.” It was pretty embarassing to be called out like that for the poster, and this kept the account quality in check.

This is merely a drop of water in the ocean of problems this site has unfortunately, but I do hope account quality is restored to it’s former glory sooner or later.

The big issue with this though, would be the fact that it would turn to the same as the scam reports at some point with people not getting approved, mainly because of the fact that there's accounts that get sold which are OG but the staff member might not know the relevance of; such as an anime account.

I agree that there should be a moderator that is dedicated to this section, but I don't think it should be me. I have a toxic past with a lot of warnings and I don't meet the requirements to apply - but I also don't think I would anyway. If this were suggested a couple of years ago (and doge wasn't staff ofc, he was good when he was so there wasn't one needed), there would have been some really good people around that could have applied (such as MisfitNerd and possibly Style) but considering it's been so long, the active and trusted people that are fit for staff aren't around anymore.

Maybe they could allow common dictionary words (that don't end in suffixes) to go through automatically, and all the others could be checked manually, which would speed it up.

Kram went up to me too, I dont think he has future plans to handle it as he barely tried for over a week. One does not learn about ogs and semis in an instant either.
