Add a credit system in which you can buy rewards.

You get credits from posting/upvotes and you can give credits to others. You then can buy things like an extra image in your sig, a name color etc.

Post count and ratings aren't all that makes a good MCM user.
I know a majority of my time is spent in shoutbox just simply talking to other members of the community, replying to private messages, or taking way too long to write out a single long and poetic looking post that may nor may not get any ratings at all.

This system would not only encourage mindless posting and rate farming, but it would give functioning permissions to people who might not even be as active or contributive to the site as other people.

We don't need to make everything complex and tier-game-like.
This isn't a minecraft server.

The perks wouldn't alter people's activity that much. A name color doesn't do anything.

You really think somebody would pull a Cow just to get a name color? For example, If it was 1000 posts worth of credits to buy the name color, do you think someone would spend days (especially with the post cooldown), just to get the color?
