Pros:
  • Buyers can make a license system which is literally automated
  • Solves a major problem when it comes to plugin leaking.
  • Beneficial for both site and author
Cons:
  • Can be bandwidth heavy if not properly made
  • Can be exploited if not properly made
This was a promise, we still haven't seen any insight on it. It's quite a grueling task yet in the end it will change a lot when it comes to endorsing the Zero tolerance leaking rule

it would be a good idea, but one of the very good members was banned for having an API that simply logged ur IP when you installed his script.. and he was banned if this becomes a thing, I think the guy who was banned for this should be unbanned.
Oh no if you mean the Pterodactyl thing... it was a rat top to bottom. Whilst it wasn't used for malicious purposes, it represented a MASSIVE vulnerability that if his dashboard was hacked, possibly hundreds of servers would have been too. This could have led to possibly one extremely big botnet that would have crawled for a couple days. Imagine the damage.

Unlike back in 2017, we’ve been promised this API and I haven’t seen even a blink of it. I doubt it has been worked on and hopefully someone can get it done.

Quick question... is xenforo addons in PHP?

Xenforo is in PHP, so yes.? Why you ask?

I’ve got time soon. If it’s easy peasy copy paste the base and print out “lemon squeezy”, I think I might be able to get it implemented directly into the original addon.

I’m pretty sure an API for resources has been planned. It’s a matter of priorities for when it’s actually developed.

Fully understandable but it was stated it was being released, not planned. https://www.mc-market.org/threads/495708/

This, however, has been implemented: https://www.mc-market.org/resources/track
But... one major issue with it... it's not properly working. It returns a full page instead of raw data and the structure is not Json or anything which is deemed "Correct" for such API. Come on just a bit more work Jayson and it'll be perfect.

Wow so if they already have https://www.mc-market.org/resources/track it shouldnt that far off for Mick to approve this suggestion.

Yeah. Even though it is made to fight chargebacks, I don't think they've realized they were so close to accomplishing this REST Api. It's such a simple concept and will take not a long time to get fixed and going.

At the moment we do have plans to introduce an API with a bunch of really useful features and do have a suggestion for it pending. We'll be waiting until our migration to XF2 before doing so though.

I'll move this to denied, thanks for the suggestion
