I believe that there should be like a warning under a user's profile (posts, etc), if there's a scam report open on them. Even if they are responding (if they aren't Restricted SR happens I believe), just keep it there just in case.

Perhaps a red (!) symbol can be used next to 'Scam Reports' if a user has one open? Generally, this suggestion has been shot down several times over the years for reasons I can't recall off the top of my head but I'm sure you could find them by searching.

If there is a scam report open on them, you will see a tab saying "Scam Reports".

How would we know new people would know that? I know that, but what about new people? It's a QOL update.

What do you mean it's a "QOL" update?
I think he means 'Quality of Life'. So it's a 'nice to have, not necessary' is my interpretation but Etika is free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I agree with the bit "How would we know new people would know that?" True, people won't know that it's there unless they explore who they are dealing with. I don't know how deeply others explore who they intend to work with but I tend to do a scrub deep so it's not much of an issue for me to find a red flag but maybe some users are more ignorant and need an obvious red flag. How that would be properly implemented is beyond me. I'd suggest using the award flag with a red (!) and hovering over it would say 'User has a scam report open' and clicking it would lead to said scam report, but that's just my suggestion. It would obviously disapear once the case is closed - I imagine this can all be automated. I'm not necessarily for or against OP's suggestion currently.

I agree, an alert for such issues would be much cleaner and organized instead of having a staff member write a message on your profile.

He's asking for an Alert, not a scam report tabs.
An alert would be upon opening the website, a notice saying "You have a scam report, you should respond to [link] "
No I mean, like let's say your post, just like your Supreme tag, you'd have an open scam report alert. Or a badge.

That would be cool!

Should've rephrased.

Would look worst, about when you have a fake report? that tag would ruin a few months because of the time it takes to handle reports.

Then that goes for the same as the scam report tab. If it's bad and you have a fake report, firstly, scam resolvers should be able to resolve that, and secondly, if that happens, just get rid of the tab?

In my opinion, having something like this automatically added to the profile would be appreciable.
It's easy to do, nothing complicated to create, it's just a role.

This exact suggestion has been posted about a thousand times in the past. I'm frankly surprised a Scam Report tab was implemented on user profiles.

The simple fact is that this will and can be abused. Some random will make a scam report on another person, or they'll fall for an impersonator, and suddenly the person with the tag is villified because they have a tag which literally means nothing in that scenario.

The only thing this would do is let people be lazy. Research people before you deal with them. Same as rep, same as history. It's not any different.

Then a manually added tag would be great.
This tag could be added by the scam resolver if the scam report looks legit and justified.

There is a tag called restricted if the resolver deems that the user requires it in order for the user to make a response.

This has been suggested dozens of times and denied each time. Users are innocent until proven guilty with scam reports, and by making a red ! or a DWC tag on users with a scam report against them it will needlessly punish them.

In rare cases when a scam resolver is confident that a user is likely scamming out or they are purposefully ignoring the several scam reports against them, we do add an account restricted SR tag to them to limit their access to the forum, but any more than that will be abused and exploited by people wanting to harm their competition with dubious scam reports.

I think that the scam reports tab on users profiles is a great middle ground.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion
