I just think it would be a good addition to stop auto msgs. I'm not saying to do it for every message but if a user has only posted adds in like a 1-hour time span put up a captcha. I just sometimes wonder for some people if they have sat for like 5 hours just putting in ads or just use a bot.

No, those things piss me off. “Check the boxes with the stoplight” okay, fine, I’ll check the damn boxes.. *looks very closely, and a bit too percise, makes me do another one* so in a nut shell, no. I think that shoutbox is just kinda a add on, it’s not really big enough in my opinion. I think this will be more useful for threads because I’ve seen quite a few spam threads recently

Its only once every hour if you have only sent the same message how likely is that to affect you if your not useing a bot?

People will advertise regardless of whether there's a CAPTCHA or not.

In fact, having a CAPTCHA would enrage so many people, and inhibit regular chatting simply because they're so annoying and slow - not to mention unnecessary/redundant.

Not naming names on this post it’s a suggestion not something to start a flame war.

I’m talking about macros etc[DOUBLEPOST=1548740667][/DOUBLEPOST]The same person would probably still use the account otherwise it’s clearly a bot it’s just something you leave running

There is no telling if someone has a macro or not but regardless of that, if they are breaking chat rules, report their messages.
If they are not, I do not see the issue nor do I see why there's a need to implement a captcha for the chatbox.

The only way of telling whether it's manual or not would be introducing a captcha. You can't report someone because you don't know whether it's manual or not, whereas a captcha would require manual posts.

If someone is being suspicious in their way of posting advertisements (E.g. posting advertisements but not responding when messaged), then we will punish them for violating our terms of service. This seems like a massive deterrent to 99.99% of good users and won't really stop people who wish to bot.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
