Yea and I agree. All it did was give off the idea that people could/should just get freebies and it pissed off a lot of designers.
I mean it did piss off some designers but what I noticed was a lot of newer graphic artists always start with a free thread to get vouches or more experience and then continued to a paid service thread.
I'm honestly indifferent about the topic because people can just use the offering tag for it and call it free.

You can ask yourself the same question, it doesn't matter, because users can just put "FREE" after the tags already there and the same concept is presented.
It got removed because of a clean up and knowing Mick, he won't put it back in if he removed it.
There’s no reason to not add it though. Having a free tag makes it stand out and attracts people.

Or you can do "FREE | Graphic Designs". Both work equally same. There is no need for a tag: You either offer or request a service. If you offer a service, then you can offer Free work, but a tag isn't needed for it.

That's not begging whatsoever. That's like saying no one can offer a service for free because "anybody who wants free products must go to the begging section". That's also like saying we should remove the Contests & Giveaways because "anybody who wants free products must go to the begging section". Yes, I get that you're more so referring that to people who create threads and want free stuff, but it's illogical to disallow that but allow other things where people want free stuff from people doing contests & giveaways as well as offering free work in exchange for vouches.
From what I heard anyway, the begging section for premium+ isn't even active (read this a while back, things could have changed but I don't have a way of knowing that)
REQUESTING free services is different than OFFERING free services. "Ask" and "give" are two completely different concepts.
Asking for something without intending to pay anything is begging.
You can't ask for vouch copies on threads anyways.

We're looking to revamp a bunch of prefixes in a future announcement to make them more consistent. When we do this, we will be implementing this change.
