This is false. As long as you run good and efficient plugins, the server will not lag.

Just add the plugin, a simple ping command won't have any impact on performance. Either way, adding plugins directly to the jar is literally the same thing as having them installed on the server separately. There is literally no reason to be paying someone just to create a jar for you with one extra command.

That's the exact feature Essentials has, now if you don't want to use Essentials for whatever reason, why do you need /ping in the first place if it won't show your actual ms and just display pong?

I don't think essentials is fully opensource I think only the jars are public (Can be wrong I don't usually use the public essentials) if i'm correct you'd have to use a separate plugin but doing it that way would be much easier

Yes, just get an actual ping plugin, it'll replace the essential's ping command.
