There needs to be a restriction preventing newer members from creating threads in the middleman section.

This is because lots of people have been creating threads there to troll, or "build up reputation" which defeats the purpose of using them as a middleman in the first place, since they're supposed to be reputable in order for people to trust them with their money.

Here's a few examples of what I'm talking about:
https://www.mc-market.org/threads/546290/
https://www.mc-market.org/threads/546300/
https://www.mc-market.org/threads/546342/
https://www.mc-market.org/threads/545814/
https://www.mc-market.org/threads/529015/
https://www.mc-market.org/threads/528162/

I found these by skimming over the first 2 pages of the middleman section.

Adding a restriction would tidy up the middleman section a lot more, and would prevent other members from being tricked by them if they're malicious.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Agreed, though I have never used a middleman before.

What would be the requirements to post in the section then? Does time equal reputation?
Does simply having a lot of reputation points make you qualified?

What if a new user joins the site and does two big deals compared to someone whose been on the site for a while and has only done small deals here and there?

I agree with Sloth. Trust is completely different to reputation.
What are you talking about? That wasn't my argument?[DOUBLEPOST=1575737717][/DOUBLEPOST]

1 or 2 months should be enough, I'm not meaning large requirements, just ones to filter out a majority of the trolls and people who don't understand how middlemanning works.

I'm in agreement 100%.

There have been talks about whether or not MCM should make reputation into a total amount of transacted funds rather than a number. If they do this, maybe make the requirement a certain amount of money transacted between you and others?

If MCM doesn't do this, maybe make the requirement like 10 positive reputation or 3 months registered on-site.

Whatever they decide to do if this suggestion is accepted, I hope they execute it well.

Clicking on this thread, I initially thought that there could be no good solution, though restricting a user from making a thread in the forum isnt a bad idea

What about very rare exceptions? For example, Heart. They are extremely reputable on another site and recently came here to offer their middleman services, What would we do then?

If they have proof, then the staff can make an exception for it.

I'm not sure how willing staff is going to be to allow someone privileges just because of their rep on another site, specifically one that competes heavily to MCM.

Then I guess we should get rid of the restrictions on the loans & investments section because there's reputable people from other sites that wouldn't be able to access it either

Or heart can just stay on the comp site? I'd rather get rid of all the 0 rep mms than getting a few reputable offsite mms. People who know they're reputable, know where to find them. Some people on mcm don't even know who heart is hence they don't use him.

This can happen in any section. The issue is that two people are basically harassing a user. Neither are trying to offer a service.
I know, but it tends to happen a lot more in the middleman section, plus I assume the main reason they were doing it to him was because the user registered 2 day ago and is trying to open a middleman service

The restriction should be similar to the one in the loans and investments section, and MCM should put some sort of disclaimer above as well stating that none of the middlemen are official to MCM and they hold no liability for anything that happens.

If the restriction is too specific then if someone exit scams MCM will end up taking the heat because they decided on who was trustworthy.
