I think there should be a search bar for banned users to check who specifically is banned.

I've wanted this for a long time.

But before we can even discuss making additions to the banlist utility, I think we should decide whether or not the banlist should even be viewable to normal members.
I know there are those like Overlord who believe it should not.

I'd be interested to hear why, and the staff's counter opinion.
If there is no counter opinion, then maybe the banlist should be removed altogether.

Personally, I'm all for transparency, and information being shared, so I'd like to keep it, as well as add a search bar.

Create a poll?

Go to their profile, says they're banned if they are. Use the normal member search

This would be very useful, just in case you do want to do business with a banned user; you can see if they were banned for scamming or just for being a meany.

If you want to do business with a banned user, then you do business with a banned user. It's completely offsite and you do it at your own risk and liability. They're banned for a reason. Stupidity and/or desperation like that is what gets people 'scammed' anyway.

A bureaucratic decision on whether or not someone is a scammer is, also, not exactly the best tool for judgement of personality.

I was a moderator?
I think you missed the point.

I mean what if some dude was wrongly banned for alting, I want to know. 'Banned' covers a wide range of reasoning, some which would render the user dndw, some which would not.

If you wish to conduct an offsite deal with a user, especially one that you know to be banned, you do so at your own risk and remove yourself from any ability to even complain about getting scammed.

Again, bureaucrats are no reliable or meaningful judge to determine who is or isn't a scammer.
