Hello everyone, I am looking for an advice from competent members regarding network advertising. As we all know, advertising is the core for growing a community and bringing players across your servers.

I am looking for your kind opinion regarding which method I should be using from the ones listed below:

A ) Youtube advertising
B ) Discord advertising
C ) Social media advertising (Facebook, Instagram)
D ) Server-lists advertising (which one: free or paid)

Current budget: 1200$ - 1300$
Period to spend this budget: approx. 2 months (launch budget)
Planned splitting: A ) - 40% (480$) , B ) - 40% (480$) , C ) - 20% (240$)

I am looking for your kind opinion regarding methods, budget, period and splitting. I will highly appreciate your opinion on this matter. Thank you!

Would not recommend discord advertising, sure your discord might be get users but they will be inactive and you won't get players on your server. Server-lists could be good but I would not pay much I'd rather do youtube advertising and Social media. But it's up to you.

Youtube advertising, Discord advertising and Server lists advertisements are the most effective out of those four.
Social media advertisements are good for some products and services, but not particularly for this sort of service.
Furthermore, you could also decrease server list advertising costs to under $100, and push that cash towards either Youtubers or discord giveaways.

The reason I believe Discord ads and Youtubers are the most proficient for your aim of growing your community is because of the following:

1. The discord budget could have an extra $70 if you split the remaining $140 that was taken off server list advertisements. By increasing your discord budget it would allow you to maintain a community with PayPal or Nitro giveaways. Furthermore, by introducing more giveaways you could increase activity within the server, and would most likely see a much higher number of invited players begin to flood the server.

2. Youtubers are what bring dedicated players who, are more than likely willing to spend money to keep up with the flow of the server. Although just over $500 is not too much for youtube advertising, you could work around that by contacting more smaller youtubers, or negotiating with one large youtube. (Make sure to bind them by a contract or they might just run off with your money).

I agree, your discord can grow with time, and server-lists, social media, etc would grow out all the other aspects

I agree with you but I would not recommend discord giveaways since most people are just there for the free money/nitro and won't actually play your server, I tested this theory and showed that out of 400 members on discord from giveaways only 20 joined on release. But unless that's just my thought on this[DOUBLEPOST=1585570000][/DOUBLEPOST]
If you know how to spend the money on discord ads correctly they do work lmao
Sure you can find good sources but with seven ads I only got 20 players with 400 discord members, and all of the servers were minecraft related.

I've had a few issues in the past with that exact issue, however if you purchase ads from the right places that target the Minecraft community specifically - while also maintaining constant contact with the new members, and also pumping out spoilers the majority of them will stay for release. Furthermore, by introducing invite rewards to access further giveaways the chance of getting a higher player base skyrockets.

if you bought 7 ads and only got 400 members you did a terrible job at advertising anyways
Not really, was small servers and I did not pay that much.[DOUBLEPOST=1585570176][/DOUBLEPOST]

Of course, there's always stuff you could do to increase the chance of active players. As I said I've tested this and it did not work out good for me but you may have better luck.

Thank you all for the quick and valuable opinions.

Would you all agree that Social-media advertising (Facebook ads) is less effective from the rest of the methods from above ? Should I maybe invest that part of the budget in a server list (for example: paid slots) ? Mantis , spread , 901cosmic , SpecialOffer

Regarding YouTube contract: do you have any ideas how such a contract should look like, do you have any examples for it, who should validate this contract ?

Thank you!

Personally, I would class social media ads as a waste of money.

Contracts for youtubers should just include what they are being paid, their expectations, the date, the names of each signer and two signatures. You could send it to them electronically, to sign and they can just scan it back to you.

Thank you all once again, I will reconsider your opinions and will launch my ads according to them.

A ) Youtube advertising
B ) Discord advertising
C ) Server lists advertising (paid)

Planned splitting: A ) - 60% (720$) , B ) - 10% (120$) , C ) - 30% (360$)

I am also planning to share with you the results of the advertising campaigns which I believe will be a valuable to anyone interested to see the possible results with such a budget (for a launch).

Hello, again..

Yesterday I managed to contact a person who works with most of the famous minecraft youtubers (paid reviews) and I got some prices from him for different youtubers. I reconsidered the budget for Youtube since the prices were higher than I expected them to be. I decided to invest anywhere b/w 2.5k$ - 3k$ in Youtube advertising.

I would like to have your opinion guys which strategy of the ones from below you think might work best in this situation:
A )
Investing in 1 video from a famous Youtuber who does only Minecraft videos (nearly 800k subscribers) + Investing in 1 video from a not famous Youtuber who does only Minecraft videos (anywhere b/w 25-50k subscribers).
B ) Investing in multiple small Youtubers (anywhere b/w 25-50k subscribers).

I would highly appreciate your opinion regarding which strategy I should use. Thank you!
