Advertising methods

Hello all!

I'm looking to start a server soon and am wondering what are the best methods of getting people to play? How do you get those first few players efficiently? Is it server lists, discord ads etc?
All help is appreciated.

YouTubers all the way, getting them to advertise the server by uploading a trailer or mentioning it in a video/playing it in a video really gets more players coming your way. If a player is watching a Livestream or a youtube upload from their favorite YouTuber, they'd want to play on the same server that they're playing on. Simple as that.

stay away from discord ads, usually they are utterly useless and barely get any players to join your server. i would suggest advertising heavily prior to release.

One of the most effective ways of getting players on for release that I have seen, Is getting a (or several) decent sized streamer with good engagement, to stream the release. Also have them, and other youtubers, upload your trailer and/or make a video on the server.

Seeing a lot of this (you tubers/streamers are the best way to go). What is the best way to go around with this? Should I message YouTubers with propositions regarding content/trailers or search on mcmarket?

There are many content creators offering their services in the advertising section of mc-market. You can contact them there, or you can try contacting youtubers / streamers that you find elsewhere, and ask if they are interested in working

Yeah and those YouTubers usually upload like 10 trailers a week lmao
Try to get some "real" YouTubers that don't do server trailer uploads and new series every week.

Hence the reason I also added that he should also try to find creators elsewhere, not just here
