Advertising server

Hi, my server opened about a month ago and we had a steady player base for quite a while but it's died out since then. All I've done is put my server on server lists and people do vote, but no players seem to be joining.

I'm on quite a budget, but does anyone know any other ways I can advertise the server and get some new players?

If you're on quite a budget then creating a new original gamemode would be good, maybe some concept stolen from a triple A game? But if you want something quicker and easier: If you have quite a bit of gamemodes then get rid of some/all that need a larger player base to operate (like build battle, kitpvp, hunger games etc.) After you do that add some more solo games (if you haven't already) like Vanilla/Survival, Kingdoms, RPG, Creative. Then pay some medium sized youtubers to just start a lets play on your server, lets plays are better then streams in my opinion because they'll stay on the youtubers channel for a lot longer, sure its a bit more expensive but its worth it. And of course if everything else fails you can get into a partnership with some discord server, merge with another server, re-brand, or do the old trick shut down for like 2 days for no reason and then open up again.
