Hello! I own a small towny server that is in desperate need of some server advertisement, but I'm not sure where to start. Our budget is pretty small as this is a new server, so if anyone has any suggestions for advertising solutions, I would really appreciate a reply to this thread or even being added on Discord!

I would suggest discord advertisements. I have never seen them done for a towny server but they have worked for skyblock, factions, and prison servers. Let me know if you would be interested since I sell ads in 2 servers (both minecraft related)

I run a prison server, discord ads barely work at all. I got 300+ members from discord ads and only 1 of them join my MC server. They contribute nothing to the activity of my server and make the discord member numbers bloated as fuck. Spend the money on your server, make a better server, and if you need to advertise go to server lists, where people are LOOKING for servers, go to youtubers who have good prices and dedicated communities. Word of mouth, and free advertising is also VERY important. A good trailer can build hype and can be used to advertise too.

Besides server lists, what kind of free advertising is there? I'm currently listed on 3 server lists

just post on all of them, running a twitter / youtube is a decent way, your website also helps if you can push seo. There aren't really many free ads but like bumping on PMC every day at peak times helps
