Advice for starting to edit videos

The title says it all, I have previously edited my own videos before, and i know generally the basics, and during this time of quarantine and me being a complete broke ass, i wanted to get better at this and eventually work with people, to earn a bit of money on the side, since im looking to upgrade pc peripherals, my pc itself, etc, but im poor lmao. I just don't know where to start so ive decided that i should take matters into my own hands, so if anyone could drop me some advice, I would really appreciate it, thanks

For starters, I have found that the best way to learn software is by messing around and following tutorials. I learned most of After Effects from watching a guy named Avnish Parker! As for some advice, have fun with it! Experiment with new styles, try new things and make sure it's something you enjoy. You won't be nearly as good if you are doing it just for the money since you would be lacking passion. Feel free to DM me if you have any questions my friend!

I say use Filmora 9, this is what I use to edit and have big clients. Go join smaller but decent sized youtuber's discord servers and offer to edit for free to get a portfolio, I did this and have made $2k+ from editing now. Good luck!
