Hello,

There's a specific host I'm using but only just found out they have been using the same hardware for 3 years ever since they started. I'm getting 200+ players on my server on SOTW (Hardcore Factions) and here are the current specs that the host provides.

- Xeon E3-1245v2 @ 3.4GHz

- SSD Storage

- DDR3 1600MHz RAM

- 1Gbps uplink

Should I be worried about anything? Such as server performance, server crash, etc? They resell OVH servers + have 480GBPS ddos protection.

Best regards,

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Without any prior knowledge, all I have to say is, if it worked in the past, and nothing has changed, don't be worried.

It is possible this will cause a performance issue with the SSD aging. You may find performance to be lacking from what it used to be 3 years ago (or longer...the server could've been used by many prior to to your current host). With SSD aging the speeds of the SSD slow down over time. The host I currently work at replaces servers every so often to try and prevent this.

As far as I remember, as long as SSDs are TRIMed at least once every 6 months, they should have no degrade in performance. HDDs on the other hand usually do lose performance over time.

Those are good specs and your server should run fine. Mosts hosts use the same or similar CPUs and Parts in their servers. As most people said, SSD performance can degrade over time, but Minecraft doesn't read&write gb of data at a time anyway, so you should be good.
