Minecraft was ruined by PvP

Minecraft started out in 2008 as a peaceful survival game that you could endlessly explore on single player. The game had community made servers that had extravagant architectural creations that were unprotected and people played together as a community.

but in 2011 1.7 was released to Minecraft which sparked a PvP idealism to the community and Faction servers were released causing the once community styled servers to be thrown into the shadows and we were left with shitty faction youtubers and PvP tryhards that find it fun to click faster than someone on a block game. The game is now just a repetitive click fest for tryhards and not what the game was meant to be. You can say that the game was skyrocketed into game by PvP but in the end it caused its downfall.

I think that it changed the game. I do enjoy PvE servers, and I would hate to see them die out. Prison, Skyblock, and Survival are my favorite gamemodes. I enjoy PvP, but honestly I wish there were better servers of these gamemodes.

PvP didn't change the game itself, it simply gave birth to a new and dominating branch of the community. Community servers still exist, in a way, but the PVP gets a lot more spotlight, so it seems like that's all there is.

What I meant is community servers that actually build together there's SMP's that people hide away in protected plots from everyone else but close to none of he servers from the old times.

Yeah, giant-ass SMP servers have kind of died out. Mostly because a lot of people have grown tired of the same old game. I lasted about a full year playing vanilla minecraft before I got bored, updates or no updates. after that it was modded, adventuremaps and building. The last part is the only thing that still interests me.

I play ona server that’s been up for years and years, still has the old aspects of MC, it’s decently popular and basically unchanged since the beginnings of MC
