Here's some tips to get ya started:
- Avoid any [Censored] plugins (EpicHoppers, etc), they're badly made and will cause major issues for you in the future
- Stick to either 1.8 or 1.12 spigots, and use paperspigot if possible
- Don't use any other skyblock plugin than aSkyblock. There's a reason 90% of skyblock networks use it, even the big ones
I agree to 1 & 2. aSkyblock is the most used, but support has been dropped. SuperiorSkyblock is the best at the moment.

edit:
I see Diz disagrees with my view on aSkyblock, so I'll explain a bit more, so OP can see my reasoning.

ASkyblock is no longer receiving updates. Bento is focused on BSkyblock. BSkyblock is available for download, but is still beta- so you're choosing either not updated or potential bugs.

Choosing a fork (ie; SuperiorSkyblock) is the best choice until BSkyblock is stable. SuperiorSkyblock even comes with integrated features that you would have to purchase separately, such as block stacking, island upgrades, island top GUI with block counts, and so much more that ASkyblock will never support, nor be updated to support.

tl;dr
Forks are actively updated and maintain many more features than ASkyblock will. Until BSkyblock is stable, use a fork or an independent core.

Don't use paper spigot, use taco spigot, as there is more hopper performance and most of the time, hoppers lag the server.
