Allow a digest of conversations and mesages to my email, rather than an email for every alert

Heyo, so my email filled up over the past couple days with conversations, alerts and more.

I really enjoy this forum, but every single time I get notified on the forum when I'm sitting right in front of it, I also get an email.

Perhaps allow us to receive a digest that includes all messages and alerts for a configurable time period. Whether it's 1 hour, 6 hours, 24 hours, a week, anything.

It'd also be nice to have a feature where the system detects that we're actively engaging in the forum, and not send us an email, but instead just pop up an alert like in the bottom left corner with messages and what not.

You do realize you can completely disable email notifications, right?

If you don't, go to Contact Details > Then look under "Messaging Preferences" and uncheck the box saying "Receive email when a new conversation message is received. Email notifications for new conversations, replies to existing conversations, and being added to an existing conversation."

And bam, you're done.

Disabling email notifications doesn't help much, because we want them. For example, my old archives are the only records I have of the old OG section. There's no other way to get to them. The goal isn't to make them disappear, but to make them be more practical and usable.

Of course, I do think there are way to do this on a users email. I think in Gmail it's possible to create a new tab for emails from forums (in this case we'd configure it specifically for MCM) and still have them show up as part pf the unread count of your Inbox. That way, you'd still be able to see em', but they wouldn't be ostentatious and disturbing anymore.

Nevertheless, I like this suggestion. It simply makes much more sense than the current system.

I wasn't able to find an addon for this and I genuinely don't think that it would be a priority to create.

Denied, if you would like a digest made for you with the emails MCM sends you then it is probably configurable with your current email.
