Allow banned users to create accounts to appeal with _temp after their name.

I think banned users should be able to make an account with _temp afterwards, in order to appeal their ban. Tulip_temp, would be mine for example. They then could talk to the staff member. If they didn't use this format, they'd be banned. If everyone used this format, people would know who was banned and who was not. If this is not implemented, I think we need to implement some sort of appeal system.

Odds are they would not use it just to appeal though, they would post elsewhere. It would be fine if they only had permission to PM staff, but the half of the time they lie saying that they were never ban evading, it was their brothers account, I did not scam I was just away and could not answer the report on me, etc. I honestly don't think it would work well, even more so with the more dangerous scammers being able to do this. Not to mention that if they PM a new user, that user would not know any better to do a trade with them. This could actually lead to more scamming.

They are given a fair trial though before banned and removed from the site.. what more do they need to appeal?

I think when a member is banned they should be allowed to access a "hidden" forum which only them + staff can see (make it so members cant see each others threads). That way once they are banned if they didn't go anything wrong and it was a misunderstanding or whatever they can just make a thread there and try and talk to staff and get unbanned or stay banned.

Oh and the banned member wouldn't be able to see any of the regular forum just the hidden one for banned members to prevent actual scammers from trying to make more deals.

Yep I agree as well.
No more worries of them creating ALTS. to get their point across. Leave them with limited permissions, a banned icon/name and allow them restricted access to only that forum that Zap mentioned. I think that would be great. Just make it so that only staff and that individual can view their own threads made.. you really don't need everyone banned reading each others appeals.

I have something to add on though. I think that we should have two banned groups, one group that can appeal and one that can't. The people not being banned for the first time go to the one that can't, and the ones that are being banned for the first time are allowed to appeal.

Do you think people won't lie? With the way that we ban people there is minimal information provided. People can easily say "nah, I was banned for posting banana pictures, not scamming" and we wouldn't be able to prove otherwise

When I was banned Mick had just aquired ownership, I created a new account and ONLY used it to PM Mick a ban appeal and got unbanned

Maybe mcm should just get a support skype or something that you can contact when you have issues like this, since when you are banned you can't access the forum and there's no way to appeal without making an alt which will just get you banned again.
