Hey there. There used to be a feature in where you can edit your shoutbox messages. I think this should be re-added. Occasionally people post things they don’t mean to post, or have a basic spelling error. This would be a helpful feature and in my opinion should be implemented.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Eh, it could also be used to be toxic to others and just cover it up afterwards. It could perhaps be a donor rank feature, but, I don't think it's that necessary.

What about a supreme feature? That would work.

I guess, even though it could still be abused. I still disagree with the idea, it's not something that users can't live with, at least from my point of view.

I would like it yes, but honestly most of the time the chat is going so fast that by the time I would finish editing it, it wouldn't even be in view anymore.

Other than that, sure why not?

Just pointing this out, you need to be a donor rank to type in shoutbox anyway. Regardless, this would be quite helpful

Personally from a moderator's perspective, the chat archives have been helpful in gathering evidence for scams, abuse of rules, learning more about an individuals character which can lead to bans. The ability to edit such a thing would make this source of information less reliable for us to use hence I will have to disagree with this suggestion.

Would make things harder to moderate regardless I expect anyway. Would be redundant with the amount of chat reports.

That will most likely have to be custom developed. We currently have a shortage of Xenforo developers (we are looking for them, I can assure you I have transparency on the situation regarding that), but this sort of thing would be extremely low priority on our development to-do list.

Although I still would consider it not very viable as it would only make moderation harder, more complicated, UI for chat archives be more messy and chat reports can be somewhat more painful and redundant to deal with if we need to manually look into the edit history.

Personally the shoutbox is fine as is. This really isn't needed and has more negatives connected with it than positives. Why else would you need to edit your shoutbox messages except fix the odd typo (which really no one will hate you for) or perhaps hide evidence after all?

I see it that people will forge messages to make others look bad. Even if it were a “supreme” feature, it would be abused imo.
I.e. in screenshots, where a reputation dispute would be impractical if used that way (you'd have to open a support request and then follow through, it's a complete waste of time). So yeah.

What if there was a time limit? Just like in the private messages.

Just like private messages, a time limit: 1 minute to edit your message.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
