Hello! Me and justis have had a discussion in shoutbox about the new vouch system changes and ive noticed a flaw in it. People like Me who primarily focus on selling people accounts people are not allowed to vouch on your thread. For example if a user purchases the account "Beaker" from me they are not allowed to vouch on the account "Jumble" as it is a different account. In my opinion this is unfair and the rule should be reworded. This rule is absolutely fine for people who offer services now however i feel like it should be altered so people are allowed to vouch on account threads as right now as this rule stands vouches would not be allowed in an account thread due to the new rule. Therefore i think this rule should be changed to benefit people who sell accounts just like myself because as it stands currently noone is allowed to put vouches on account threads. The vouch would be like "Vouch I have bought the account (account) from this user.

This brings me onto my next point which is linked. I primarily buy my accounts and sometimes even sell my accounts to new members. This means they have no way of vouching that my service is legit. They cant rep due to the fact they just joined the site and they cant vouch due to the new rule. The only thing they can do is put a post on my profile which in my opinion not a lot of people read profile posts. This is where we should allow new members to rep earlier (a lot earlier) This will be beneficial for everyone if a new member is able to provide proof they have either sold or bought an account from a user i do not see the problem in them being able to give out a positive or negative rep if they have been scammed. Yes there can be flaws in this for example new members randomly coming on MCM and neg repping people for no reason however in my opinion i think this would be a change to benefit MCM in the long term.|

Thanks for reading and i hope to have a conversation with people in the comment section.

One thing I must correct is that rule 1.8.3 is not a new vouch system change in the slightest. It’s been in place for a very long time and isn’t going anywhere.

As for the membership duration requirement on leaving feedback via the reputation system. What are you suggesting it be changed to? A week? Two?

I would personally say 2 weeks so new members cant just log in and abuse the rep system. However depends what everyone else thinks

"One thing I must correct is that rule 1.8.3 is not a new vouch system change in the slightest. It’s been in place for a very long time and isn’t going anywhere.", you do know change is always good to have especially in rules, since they become outdated.

Why do people need to vouch on the thread though? Couldn't people just check the reputation instead?
Say they have 100 rep, you scrolling thru all of it to see a rep for that service.
Also people leave vouches more than rep lol

That the argument Justis said in shoutbox. A new member is unable to rep for a month therefore because of this vouch rule they are basically unable to leave feedback on the deal. Everyone on MCM opinion should matter - if a new member had a bad experience of a deal they should be allowed to say. If its said on a profile post i can just delete it. Therefore i feel like a new member should be able to rep and if this dosent happen should be able to vouch or devouch on a post

Maybe allow members to rep after a couple of days, but until 2-3 weeks or a month or something is over it has to be approved? idk. more work for staff but i guess they're staff to work so shouldn't really matter imo

I disagree with letting new people rep earlier. Yes, it's harder to abuse now when you need to give proof, but it's still possible and we don't want to give staff more work than they already have in order to validate them.
i agree however i think 2 weeks is still quite a good time instead of instantly

At the moment I'm going through a number of suggestions, and a lot of them were created regarding the reputation updates that we published and later rescinded. We now have a system where we consider some reputation to be 'legacy' and that reputation does not count toward reputation totals, and overall I feel like now a lot of people are satisfied with this system.

There were a tonne of suggestion threads created during this time, all with very valid criticism of our updates, and I believe that the reputation system we have now is even better because of that so thank you for that.

I'll move this to denied now, along with the rest of the suggestions made on this topic at this time, thank you.
