This is a suggestion to update rule 1.16 and it's sub rules which are as follows:
1.16 Do not post links with the intention of producing revenue or other content from users clicking the link.
1.16.1 Do not post adfly links, referral links or codes in any section other than the Premium ‘Begging Forum’
Source

I believe it should be acceptable to post referral links to products a person would geninuly recommend with the condition the poster of the link should be required to make it explicitly clear that the link is a referral link and should not in anyway attempt to hide the fact.
The poster of the link possibly should also be required to provide a non referral link.

A secondary condition may be that this link can only be in reply to a question of a user asking for advice or a recommendation. The poster of the link should not be able to post these in the shoutbox, as it's own individual thread, signature or profile.
Although, I can already see this possibly being abused by two friends posting and answering one another.

The idea is that it is to benefit the person asking, whilst allowing a genuine refer to also benefit and not the person who spams it in enough places.

See this thread for an example.

There should be an exception to this relating to links that generate revenue for the poster of the link by showing an ad before redirecting to the content (or similar method) are not allowed.

My updated version of rule 1.16 and it's sub rules:
1.16 Do not post links with the intention of producing revenue or other content from users clicking the link
1.16.1
Unless in the case you would genuinly recommend the referred product, are replying to a thread asking for such a recommendation and also supply a non referral link. This exception applies only to referrals in which referral revenue is produced by the user purchasing the recommended premium product.

Please share your thoughts and any discussion on this :)

The issue there, is how do you tell if its genuine? You only really have the refers word, that they genuinely like the company / service, it’s entirely possible they’ll still be doing it for personal gain. No way to prove either way, unless they make it really obvious.

Fair point. I suppose if the referred product is relevant to the question, that may be sufficient.

referal links are good idea dont listen to pussy above
There is no issue with creating disucssion of differing opinions. It's actually beneficial to hear other ideas and potential shortfalls in a system.

The issue with allowing referral links to be posted in forums outside of begging is that it means that people will just end up posting referrals for products that they don't genuinely recommend for the sake of receiving their reward.

It will just encourage people to post more referrals, which isn't what I want on this platform.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
