I recommend adding an option for resource owners to accept BTC as a payment method, or any other crypto to be honest. Since you allow forum members to purchase ranks for BTC, why not allow resource owners to accept the same payment method that the site does?

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

We definitely intend on expanding the payment options available for authors to accept through resources. Since it’s already in the pipeline, I’ll move this to pending.

Would be nice to allow more payment methods because some countries can't use PayPal (Turkey for example)

Accepting cryptocurrencies with resources is something that's been requested a lot and it is something that we're interested in, but we're focusing on introducing other payment methods like stripe and all the other relevant gateways first. If we did go down the crypto route, I think we'd do it in a similar way to how MC-Market is accepting cryptocurrency payments right now, through Bitpay (https://bitpay.com/online-payments). Just a matter of working out whether that system would be suitable and work well.

I don't see accepting cryptocurrencies as being something that we'll get to this year, unless our payment partner Tebex gets something going for it. I'll keep you updated through this thread on changes and development as they happen though.

I know this is already in pending but I'd like everyone to note that it isn't that easy - the reason PayPal works so easily with resources is because PayPal has a nifty API trick that lets you create a transaction to a different email recipient while still being able to track the transaction using the API.

MCM can use crypto to accept payments because they use a payment processor that handles all the gruntwork for them. If MCM wants to allow payment processing with crypto it will likely be limited to BTC and ETH as the system that they use is dramatically different from what needs to be implemented for resources. That, or you can have them take payments for you and then pay you out which is frankly a terrible idea.

Stripe will almost never work unless you give MCM your own API keys (also a bad idea) because Stripe doesn't have the same trick that PayPal's API does.

Other payment methods are essentially out of the question since you are the owner of these payment methods and without an API that allows them to track the transaction (which, apart from PayPal and Crypto, requires direct access to your account) MCM has no way of confirming if a buyer paid and thus delivering the resource.

Even if MCM adds in crypto support it is likely to be limited to major cryptocurrencies (I mean only BTC, ETH and maybe LTC) and other payment methods will be near impossible.
I see no problem with limiting it to only the major cryptocurrencies. I don't think anyone is gonna want to buy resources with their dogecoin and if they do, it should be very easy for them to simply convert it to a better coin in order to buy resources.
