Title says it,

CraftedPlugins doesn't directly compete with MCM -> you should be able to advertise it,

People can say LoanHub is a competitor yet Satan can advertise that?

I feel like we should be able to advertise sites which don't directly compete with MCM, there's a 3rd party site which I will not name and it competes with MCM directly, it's goal is to compete with MCM and its whole topic is minecraft related, but CraftedPlugins doesn't directly compete with MCM and should be fine to advertise, same with my site, it doesn't directly compete with MCM and I should be allowed to advertise it without permission.

CraftedPlugins has been around for 2 years and Mick has previously acknowledged it's existence, why is it suddenly disallowed? Because it has grown? That's bullshit. Bryce has bought stickies and ad spots before. Now you took his money and decide to consider it as a disallowed website?

Fine, draw a line. But do it from now on. Not after someone has invested hundreds of hours into a project while relying on MCM for it's publicity.

While we're at it, you should consider SpigotMC a competitor too because last time I checked they had a services/selling section as well. There's legit no reason to allow SpigotMC to be mentioned on this site if you're banning CraftedPlugins.

If I was in Mick's shoes, I'd only consider forums which are in the same branch as MCM as competitors. In fact, the rule was made for those forums and Mick is fully aware of that and has somewhat taken it out of context.

Way to kill such an innovative cool project lol.

Wow, I couldn't have said that any better. You have perfectly described what Mick's doing to me, and CraftedPlugins. Thanks for the post Ajdin , Never expected you to post something like this for one of my projects. Much appreciated.

Bryce CraftedPlugins seems like a pretty cool project. It definitely adds a lot to the sales of modifications like plugins than a forum marketplace has done. Good work there.

I feel like that forum would be a pretty big reason why Mick might not want to allow them to work here. It seems outside of their general objective of selling modifications (in a non-forum like system, for the most part).

I'd suggest, both from a business standpoint and to avoid being identified as a competitor, that the forums be limited to discussions of trade. That also makes more sense to encourage market activity in the dedicated marketplace.

I don't think Mick could then classify the site, strictly, as a competitor.

Which I offered to do to only have the response of

"My decision is final".

It's clearly not the issue here. Its Mick .

I'd make the initiative regardless. Accounts definitely don't seem to fit in your business model anyway, just seems like a random OOP category thrown in there and it won't be used anyway. Even if it doesn't help your case, it would be better for business regardless.

If I'm told I cannot advertise regardless on here, and Mick is not willing to lift this "ban", May as well keep the threads we have, even add more.

The topic of competitors has been discussed at length between the staff team and we eventually came to a conclusion that CraftedPlugins (ShulkerBox now?) and Slab's site are competitors to MC-Market. It's easy to say "just let those that don't directly compete with MC-Market to be allowed", but there are also reasons against that. It would be very easy for you could create a forum just around selling minecraft accounts and get users and once you have a significant portion of the userbase to switch over to a full MC-Market ripoff website like the other competitors out right now. This is essentially what Pablo has done now.

I can assure you that these decisions were not made on a whim, and certainly aren't due to whether or not you purchased advertisements on the site.

I could create a wiki article about the "whitelisted" forums you are able to discuss though too just to prevent further confusion on the matter.

This suggestion was denied, thanks.
