Allow users to shift around forum categories

Whenever I want to read General Discussion I need to scroll to the bottom of the forum.

Now I understand that you have the tree set up in a way that makes sense for most, but we have the MC-Market section up top and the discussion section at the bottom. In my opinion both pertain to MC-Market. Off-Topic seems like something that more belongs in General Discussion.

So what I was thinking was it'd be awesome if we could move forum categories around!

Forum categories are the containers for forum topics themselves. An example of categories would be: MC-Market, Minecraft Marketplace, Minecraft Services, etc.

Anyway, these configs could be stored in client-side cookies so the server doesn't have to deal with it at all. Anyway, I hope this idea is well-received. Thanks!

If this wasn't a nightmare to develop, I'd say go for it. But sadly, it is.

Perhaps somebody on the forum would like to code it? I know I would donate my talents to it if I had the skills.

edit: I'll go one further. I'll make a donation to the person that does create this bug-free (if it's not already a thing) and we get it installed.

Alternatively, General Discussion could be moved to the top section of the forum. :D (the cheaper route for me lol)

Throwback to when General Discussion was at the top #neverforget
But really though, I remember the reasoning for it was "MCM isn't a discussion forum, it's a marketplace". Meanwhile we have a section for the dead server at the top (???)

I realize how much of a struggle it would be for BeBosny to purchase this as well as for Lyphiard to actually make it, but is that a struggle that is needed? We honestly could find someone who'd do it for free, or maybe even get the community to pitch in money to pay Lyphiard. Another solution is the "Pin to the Top" that we already have, we should make it applicable to the Discussion section.

Yeah it was at the top then moved down then I think we had the ability to move it but it was buggy

I remember the admins trying to add something like this a while back, but it was really buggy. Like Extremely Buggy.
I dont know what happened to it though.

But personally I would like the "General Section" to be at the top, rather than "Suggestions".

A system like this is way too advanced for XenForo. We may look into this when XenForo 2.0 comes out.
