Hello MC-Market,
We all know what a VPN is and if you don't know what a VPN is it's a virtual private network, But lets get down into this suggestion.

A lot of you guys would know about skype resolvers what is this "skype resolver" it was a old method of people getting other users IP by resolving them, Skype has recently blocked the use of this which was kinda good up until now.

A new tool is out called "Skype Deobfuscated" what's this? it's a old version of skype where users are able to still get your IP just by you adding them, How can you stop this well you would have to go on a VPN or tunnel your IP via socks5. Whats bad about this? well you see people eg like myself are always on MC-Market looking around and we get blocked by this VPN protection.

Seeing as if we removed this VPN protection there would be a lot of "Bots" connecting back to MC-Market along w/ people who ban evade. If so maybe can we add something which allows Supreme users or something to connect on a VPN

Not sure if that all made any sense but what im trying to say it

A lot of us deal via skype and add each other, Bad side of that is people can get your IP and if we connect on a VPN we arent able to use MC-Market & it's a lot of "work" to be unable to unconnection as we might be downloading stuff or on servers etc.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

How would it be possible? Don't you use some 3rd party service to block it?
Currently, MCM uses BlockScript (AFAIK).

If it was to be modified so that VPN users would be able to see, but not log into the site, then BlockScript can be called internally to allow for checking if a user has a specific rank, and if they are allowed to use a VPN.

Oh, very nice. I wasn't sure if it could check or not. Thanks for the clarification!

Does this work with usernames instead of ranks?

What I like about this site is that when you're banned for scamming, your IP is as well, so essentially, you can't come back and scam people again. Someone could simply go to their local library, make an account, pay a little bit of money then eventually work up to another scam.

However, are you sure that all VPN connections/IPs are blocked? I was under the assumption that only public connections are blocked (common VPNs, browser addon/extension VPNs). I'm a university student, and I'm almost always connected with a VPN to my campus, and I'm able to connect perfectly fine.

Not to mention, even if someone goes out of their way to grab your IP with a new tool, what are the chances that they are able to hit you offline? Most free booters barely do anything, and paid ones aren't permanent. Not to mention you can change your IP within 30 minutes by calling up your ISP and explaining the situation (I've had to do it before with Verizon).

I just don't think adding the potential for scammers to come back is worth the risk. Plus, even if you are able to use a VPN, if you slip up once and login to Skype without a VPN, your IP can be grabbed.

EDIT: Or you can do what Jack said ;D

What of you applied to be allowed to use VPNs and have to have a certain amount of reactions/rep to use it.

+1, the vpn block is completely useless considering you dont need to be a genius in order to change ur ip which takes less than 5mins
That's untrue. Even though I have a Dynamic IP at home the lease time is a few months meaning I have the same IP for months. I know other providers have it even longer so if I tried ban evading, this would be very effective.

Suggestion declined. I understand you're suggesting this however if you're a staff member you know how much times a IP check helps with finding a ban evader.
