Lets say that theres a thread that is getting out of hand and you want a moderator to clean up the thread, You can tag Staff groups such as

@Moderator

Admin

To fix up the thread. No offense to mods, I only tag Doge to clean up threads and stuff because hes the first person that comes to mind.

Reason: This will give users from the forum to tag every moderator to clean up the thread as fast as they could.

Cons: It can be abused easily.

but we can make it so that users can only tag moderator once a day and only Premium+ so that new users cant just tag for no reason.

If you need staff action taken on a thread, report it so it can go through procedure.

Tagging is a bad idea.
Here are just a few reasons why:

1. It wastes staff's time.
All staff members would be notified, and they'd all have to click alert to see what you want, only to find out it's already been handled by the first staff member to click it. This would especially be a pain if group tagging became a regular tool. Needing to go through each tag, before finding out what's already been handled.
And for bebos specifically, I can easily see him being spammed with tag messages from users all over the forums when it only requires a moderator. The report system prevents this. Hierarchy is handled by the staff members.

2. It's unreliable.
Not all staff members have alert notifications turned on for tagging. They would have no way of knowing you needed assistance because you chose to go with a tag instead of using the report system.
Not only that, but staff members who have tag alerts on get so many alerts, there is a high likelihood that they would miss yours. Especially if tagging became a common thing. It would be nearly impossible to find your unhandled tag through all of their alerts.

3. It's indiscreet.
Many things that require staff action should be left between the staff and the person involved.
Making it public in a thread, your call for staff to a situation could very easily lead to disputes and fights in threads between members, and we would like to avoid that. Simply use the report button at the bottom of every post, and on the profile of every user.

You shouldn't be tagging staff members at all for moderation, in my opinion. There's a "Report" button on posts for a reason.

1. There is a report button
2. This will rip the database if you use @member or something
3. This will send mass alerts.

I've seen this on slack too and it's really annoying
