Always verify who you're talking to

Recently I was asked if I was registered on a certain competitor forum. I thought this was odd as I've never registered on any other Minecraft sale forum (other than to squat the name of course). The owner had assumed it was me and gave him Moderator + Scam resolver rank. A staff member from that forum was able to supply me with the user's IP and email and I traced it to a user here: Feedable . This is why you must always verify that the person you're talking to is who they claim to be because they can and will easily screw you over. This is currently being looked into and I'm awaiting a response from a PM, but I thought I'd make this thread because as simple as it may be, there are still people who don't verify or forget. (And so nobody thinks it's me of course)

Also, I'd like to say that if you see a "Doge" anywhere else that claims to be me, automatically assume it isn't me until you verify with me that it is.

Update: The account has now been deleted by the forum owner at the request of Chattings. I'll leave this up for now as it's a decent info post about dealing with impersonators.

I assume Feedable would like a say here.

Doge is a widely used name as its slang for an animal (??), so it's not the crime of the century if you use it, but attempting to look like a respected figure isn't right.

Chattings is my friend, he was on traderealms and he was screen sharing, i asked if he hacked into doge's account, he said no, i asked him, if he had a account named doge he said no, all he said is he had the "picture"...

Yep, idc if people use my name as it's very common, but this guy literally copied everything from my profile picture to my Signature + Information tab and used it to social engineer a forum owner.

They know I'm not the real Doge, I'm in the group chat and I can get a chat format in here if you want.
Of course I'll get permission from the owner first.
But if Doge doesn't want me to have a dogs breed that I like, I can change it.

There's a massive difference between "a dog breed that I like" and literally copying everything about me including my profile pic, signature and Information tab to pose as me.

I was also informed that the owner thought it was me. If he knew it wasn't me, he wouldn't have just handed out a staff rank like that.

Before I do anything, I'm going to wait for a response from the Owner and the mod that notified him. And yes, I'd appreciate it if you removed everything you copied from my profile here.
