These threads don't currently fall under 1.8, but most of their replies do. Most people don't put a poll on these threads and so you get the typical, short, post-farmy response (Yes/No/Who are you?).
There was a trend last year in these threads and it's starting to happen again - and it's very mildly irritating opening up General Discussion to see 20 threads asking whether someone's known or not.
It would be nice to add a subrule to 1.8 such that "Am I known" threads and variations thereof are either moved to Feedback and Assistance or removed entirely. It's a question that could be asked in chatbox if strictly necessary (why?).
If not for removing them, mandate that as a rule, similar to reactions:
