Intel owned the market until Ryzen came. If this was back in 2015 or something you should definitely go with Intel. There is plenty of professionals who have tested them both and they usally ends with that AMD is the best choose today. The reason why you should buy a Ryzen CPU is not that Intel have bad CPUs, they are just overpriced. As Intel owned the market for decades, they were able to set the prices to nearly what they wanted. But why does not just Intel lower their prices? As Intel owned the market for years, nearly everyone used Intel. Humans are in general afraid to make changes, that makes people afraid to change to AMD. It is a pain to see all these people in this thread choosing Intel because "Its a personal preference" or "Thats what I have always used". Intel is surviving today because of everyone that thinks like that, and old contracts that makes big companies like Apple forced to use Intel CPUs. The day when the contracts ends and more people finally understand why they should go with AMD, Intel will sadly die. Intel knows this day will come, that is why they have started making grapich cards. Intel will meet hard competition, but I think they can make it.
