There's a very simple answer to this, coming from someone using both devices regularly... It depends on your needs.
The common 15 year old kid? The average adult? (none of you fit into that, because you're on here rather than smoking weed or whatever kids do now, which is probably better than smoking weed). They'll probably prefer the iPhone with an emphasis on simplicity and all of the features it offers such as: iMessage, FaceTime. It offers easy communication between people.
The more high tech user that wants control over their phone? Like experimenting? A developer? You'll probably prefer an Android device.
I've used Androids for ages, and now I use an iPhone. I communicate with people better than I did using an Android, and the apps on the iPhone are better fit for me. That doesn't say Apple's App Store is better than Google's Play Store or w/e you call it... It just means it has better quality apps for the features I need from apps. My next phone device will also be an iPhone. Are they overpriced? Most definitely. Are they in-superior in terms of processing power and "under the hood" technology? Most definitely.
Not everyone wants the complicated stuff, not everyone wants iMessage. It's all on what you want. Use whatever works best for you.
