no it’s cause it has a apple logo
Doesn't make any sense. So you're saying that you would spend 1k+ more just because it has an apple on it?

BOI you can literally buy apples for like $1 / piece at your closest supermarket. facepalm

Why would you spend more for literally the same thing?
Just because it has an "Aple" logo it increases the price?
It’s a premium phone[DOUBLEPOST=1549238119][/DOUBLEPOST]

Pretty much since if I whip out an Android my pussy rates are gonna go down by minimum 50%
In my English class, we had a big debate on phones. What it really came down to was pricing in the end game of all other things. Yeah, both flagship phones on Samsung and Apple's ends are both expensive, but the compatibility and customization on the Samsung devices took the medal in the end.
Compatibility for Apps should be iOS for sure. There’s a limited group of devices for iOS when there is thousands of Androids out there. It’s usually the iOS devices that get all these apps first over android devices. Samsung devices are premium but are far pat reaching iPhone stupidity as well - $900 for a base model “lite” and the maximum model $1600 - with Tariffs and taxes $3000 for a phone doesn’t sound right at all

"As we grow older, and hopefully wiser, we realize that a $300 or a $30 watch both tell the same time. You will realize that your true inner happiness does not come from the material things of this world. Whether you fly first class or economy, if the plane goes down – you go down with it." Steve Jobs

If an Android which is £300 does the exact/similar things an Iphone does costing £1k+ why buy the Iphone when you can save 700 and use it on something else? I'm not saying one is better than the other though.

People who are going for android in this debate see the prices and complain but they are the same price and samsung phones lol. Also if you pay $300 for an android phone you get shit, I've had experience on both sides and have to say iPhone is worth the price. Amazing software, secretive, innovative, minimalist, apps not crashing all the time. iPhone and Android can be the same more then half the android phones are cheap and trash. The good and newer ones from Samsung can be compared to Apple.

People here would never ever survive one round in a debate.

Objectively wise, most Android phones win. You cannot debate that. Every video, review or rating shows this. For example:

Most phones are as fast or faster than iPhones flagships. Take into account the costs then Android flagships are always faster.

Subjectively wise, no winner. Subjectivity means shit.

Take this comment for example.

The first wrong statement is android prices are the same as iPhone prices. Cannot be more wrong.

Second wrong statement, if you pay $300 for an android you get shit. Absolutely untrue > Pocophone.

Third wrong statement; Personal anecdotes. "iPhone is worth the price". You back this argument up with personal anecdotes. Let's see where those are wrong.

- Amazing Software. This is a personal opinion, however, taking into account that the iCloud has been hacked multiple times, iPhone making your phone (previously proven, they lost the lawsuit) slower every update and arguably the speed would disprove this statement.

- Secretive. The company is secretive, does this benefit you? Not at all. The phones, if you look at past events, are worse for protecting your information. (iCloud hacking, again). Samsung and Xiaomi and One Plus are also as secretive.

- Innovative. Not true. Since they made the first smartphone, nothing new was truly invented. Other companies, however, did. Double-sided phones, backscreens etc. iPhone has not truly brought anything innovative to the table since its launch. (Even the new notch was done by a different company before Apple.)

- Minimalist. Cannot argue with this one as it is completely subjective. IOS and Android can be both as minimalistic.

- Apps not crashing all the time. Highly subjective. Apps simply do not crash. IOS crashes as much apps as Android does.

- Half the Android Phones are cheap and trash. Yes, so are half the phones of Apple. It's called outdated.

Finally, a statement that is half-true!
The good and newer ones from Samsung can be compared to Apple.
Newer Samsung Phones or any new Android phone which is a true flagship can be compared to Apple their flagships!
Outdated phones from Samsung can be compared to outdated phones from Apple! Surprising right?

Apple is like premium clothing. You could buy a $1000 gucci T-shirt for "Premium status". But a $60 T-shirt will have the same quality. What are you lacking? A premium status.

So the moral of the story is:
Do you need to be defined by materialistic things?
Do you feel like you are not good enough unless you show off you have money to waste?
Do you think people will not like you if you do not buy the newest iPhone?
Do you have excessive money?
Do you simply like Apple/IOS?
> Buy an Iphone

Otherwise
> Buy an Android

I've had an iPhone 4s, Samsung S6 and S7, my current phone is a Google Pixel 3. Main reason I went off iPhones was the whole slowing down older phones thing, but I also found that it was just annoying to be forced to use the iOS system. Android phones are just a lot more flexible and last a lot longer. Only reasons I've had to change from the S6 was because I cracked the screen, and I had the S7 till January. They're much nicer to use and a lot more customisable, whist as iPhones are a lot more controlled. I'd say the Android is a lot better for people who want a phone to work how they want it to, but if you're already in the iOS system and have a Mac or other Apple products, it would probably make more sense to use an iPhone.

Haven't read all the posts
but the P20 pro (the lite and normal p20 seem decent for the price also) has some decent specs comparable to the iPhone x and is a lot cheaper too.
there are probs some other phones out there with a better "Value" margin.
As I see it, it comes down to 2 aspects, Quality for the price and the OS.
If you prefer IOS over android and don't mind paying a premium for the privilege, then so be it,
But if you want decent value, Android will get you the best bang for your buck.

On a side note, this goes out to everyone on my facebook I guess...
Don't compare you £1000 iPhone to a budget Alcatel pop (£40)
I feel like it when people who compare via OSs and not the phones themselves, that you get the illusion that a certain brand may seem better / more popular.
If you're going to compare phones, then do it with phones in the same price bracket...

You can't compare the two cause their at different budgets for different people. I live in Australia and literally everyone has an iPhone.

People buy iPhones for their design, reliability, security and for the IOS interface.

People buy Androids for their flexibility, customization, camera (depends what phone oppo have great camera phones), display, speed and even budget

Having experience with $50 Androids, $500 Androids and $1000 iPhones. I'm going to say this:
If you are looking for something budget or something specifically (for example a camera phone), go for android.
If you're looking for a super nicely designed phone with amazing software and minimalist, good security and a good well rounded phone, go for apple.

I just debunked all your arguments and you repeat them?

If you're looking for a super nicely designed phone with amazing software and minimalist, good security and a good well-rounded phone, go for apple.
Super nicely designed phone - false. Subjective. Others find that the phone looks terrible. A lot of people hate the Apple Notch.

Amazing software - False, it slows down your phone every update by burning through circuits. It also got hacked multiple times in a row. It is also barely compatible with anything at all.

Minimalist - False, every phone is as minimalistic as you want it to be.

Good security - False, hacked multiple times.

Good well-rounded phones - False, subjectivity. Android phones should actually be better well-rounded due to their pricing. That is the definition of well-rounded.

Objective cons of IOS (I'd assume fanboys skip the actual argument, so I'll repeat it just for them)
- Barely compatible with anything.
- A lot more, read my post above.

I also doubt that everyone in Australia has an iPhone/IOS, especially if Android is dominating statistics.

You should reread my post. It might do you good.

I see the argument of "I don't speak broke." a whole lot in this debate, but I want to give my opinion on the matter as I've used both iPhones, and Android phones as daily drivers for years now.

I've been the proud owner of an apple phone since I switched from a flip phone to a smart phone, they always provide the power to drive my daily activities, but have always lacked personality, and individuality when it comes to the interface, and UI; in short: they are all the same, the only way you can really make an iPhone stand out as your iPhone is if you put a case that you like, and a nice wallpaper on it.

While really nice, iPhones aren't the most cost efficient, you are paying for the brand, and the OS. Comparing the Samsung Galaxy S8 to the iPhone X: The galaxy S8 is Bigger, Lighter, Just as Powerful, and has better water protection at an IP68 instead of the X's IP67. The Galaxy S8 also has a longer battery life, and a higher resolution display at hundreds of dollars less. Cost-wise it's a no brainer that if you're on a budget you should go for the S8

On androids side: The OS really allows for more customization, and personality from the device you can do practically anything you want with an android! There are countless customizations in the settings, and even more that you can sideload or download without jailbreaking, or rooting the device. You can make android do virtually anything you want to an extent.

It is much easier to develop for android because it uses Java instead of Xcode, and doesn't require a pricey license to start developing, and release an app to one of the many app stores for android (iOS only has one unless you jailbreak.)

In the end whether you go with apple or android is a matter of opinion, and completely up to you, but Android has won me over, and will remain my daily driver for hopefully years to come, the benefits far outweigh anything that apple can provide at such a high price.
