I'm actually genuinely curious...

I'm not a professional photographer but I am well enough above beginner. Photography, like web design/development, is a hobby for me. I enjoy it because it's a form of art that you can add a different perspective to in multiple ways.

I shoot in manual pretty much all the time. Only time I would use auto is if I need to capture something quick or has no real composition to it (EX: museum tours).

Camera gear:
Camera: Canon EOS 6D Mark II
Lens: Tamron 28-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di VC PZD
SD: Sandisk 64gb extreme
Extra: Canon Battery Grip

I have my eyes set on some wider aperature lenses but they be too expensive for the cake right now. Cake very cheap boy :)

I edit my photos in Adobe Lightroom to give that extra boost in looks but it be expensive. I'll be switching to a much cheaper option called Luminar 3 at the end of May.
Some of my photos:

Anyone else here do photography? If so, what camera and lens do you have? (Smartphone photographers do count) Share some photos if you don't mind as well :D

I use my s9+ for my pictures which I put on Instagram and it works great considering it's just a hobby

Attached a few recents from when I burned some school books and the sunset in the evening

I have an iPhone Xs Max and I don't know if it's just me being completely incapable with the camera but I can never get the pictures to look really clear and professional. Most the times the pictures come out being blurry in some areas or unfocused.

Usually that'll happen if you're in a darkish area or when you hit the shutter button, you get a small camera shake. Not sure if iPhone does it but I have it where the volume buttons snap a photo. Good for when in landscape mode, which I mostly shoot

I enjoy taking photos on my phone (iPhone 7+). I haven’t focused on taking photos for a while but I have a few from a while ago that I’m somewhat proud of. Most are just edited in the default app.

Returned from my Italy trip. Most pictures are posted on my Instagram (no need to follow). I just want to share something I like to do.

There must be more people who like photography here, right? Whether you think the photo is good or not, feel free to share. Many of us will be happy to give pointers if you want. :D

Lmao, I’m not a photographer but I’m a filmmaker that’s mostly based in cinematography, similar really.

Got a new short I’m working on for Sundance next year lmao (some test footage on the hazy af aesthetic for the dark af film poem). But aye if you wanna see full shorts, dm me, they’re unlisted links since they “have to premiere at the film festival and no where else” lmao

I usually rent cameras but the one I own myself is an old model. Use to be 1.2k at the time but now it’s cheap as. Canon 700D, but with a 50mm prime lens at a low as hell aperture :’ ) (and ur boy has hella gimbals and light fixtures heh)

Definitely a similar area considering they both work with composition, lighting, framing, etc. That video made the cake very tense. Pretty cool though! :p

I tried cinematography. Not really my thing. I was just never good setting up a frame for a moving style than over a still. If I were to try again, I'd probably do some like landscape/nature or so. Not too sure.

yeh aha, my love is more for simplicity rather than a lot of stuff going on in the composition. its a more otherworldly aesthetic (imo) that people don’t rlly see xd, almost like contemporary art paintings. I live in the inner city of sydney soo like, I can’t rlly venture into nature, hours away.

Bro my dream would be going to iceland tho. It’s literally another world there...

That's my next trip :p

Got back from Italy a couple of days ago and I had a lot of fun, especially that I finally had a full on camera. Tried a bunch of tricks there and I think worked out great. Italy is definitely a place if you want to see more on vivid compositions.

Yeah, but aye show me the photos of Iceland afterwards. The videos people made of that place seemed like another planet... actually teared

It's beautiful (and I thought Italy was the only great place I went). Definitely will share some photos when I go, but that'll be a while since I just did my big trip.

I have a sony a7rii with a canon 50mm f1.4 lens with a metabones adapter that I barely use, I'm thinking of maybe selling it, does anybody know like a good site.

B&H will probably take it. They take practically everything. It's a nice Mirrorless camera. Was considering that but the lens for them are awfully expensive. DSLR Full frame is expensive as well but not as bad.
