Any tips on how to not get scammed?

So yeah, recently got scammed. Creating this thread just so I can find out some useful tips for future references. If you have any please post them below, as they're going to be really useful to me ^-^

If you are purchasing something, try to do half upfront and then paying other half after receiving the goods, still take care I've been scammed numerous times here.

If you are selling something, theres not much you can do as person who is purchasing from you can chargeback in next 6 months, and if they are the top level douche, they will pay with CC and then do cb at their financial institution after which your chances for winning are really really low (Talking about PayPal). Probably the only reason why I still haven't sold my server

Won't prevent a scam directly but you should keep a record of the whole transaction, screenshot (or if possible) record everything so you'll have proof against them in case they scam you and you can show it to PayPal.

Record every transaction, I tell whoever I am selling or buying from that I am and that usually rats out the scammers
