Hello! My name is Merisaurus or Meri. I am wanting to make my own Minecraft server maybe themed around Dinosaurs. I am wanting advice on how to start a server. I have been staff on many before and I understand the ins and outs of being a staff member, highest being a Sr Mod, but nothing of a greater power. I want tips on how to get a playerbase, where to go to advertise, how to know who is a scammer and who isn't, etc. I hope that this community can help me through my journey as a (hopefully) successful server owner. Don't acknowledge people who trash threads offering their services when you don't ask for them. They almost always do an incredibly crappy job and overcharge you.

Always initiate the conversation with a reputable person to purchase services. People who know what they're doing are almost always to busy to be posting, "Hey! I can do this for you!" on every thread they see.

Other than that, you should try to do as much as you can yourself and be as well rounded as possible (Development, Building, Artwork). Think outside the box, be yourself and be creative.
