I've been trying to learn mongo and for the most part I've got a handle on it, but there are some parts that I just dont understand, and from what I can see they recently changed some things with mongo and some of the things on stackoverflow are no longer useful. So if you can help me my telegram is Irantwomiles, I would love some help!

If you want an easier way around mongo use morphia, saves you a lot of time.

Other than that, read the new documentation, shouldn't be too hard to grasp, if those tutorials are "outdated" then check the docs for those methods, if they are documented, they will explain why they were deprecated in the first place.

cheers.

Are you serious? Morphia is the latest thing I would recommend, Irantwomiles PM me if you need some help with mongo, all my plugins have it, I am quite experienced.
Give me a reason as to why morphia wouldn't be preferred? I'd like to know as I'd avoid using it later.

MongoDB is faster, a lot faster..
Besides that it is easier to use especially when you can use Documents.
But still I would say PostgreSQL is another way to go:unsure:

(
Test - Records - Speed
Straight BasicDBObject (Insert) 10,000 877.76
Morphia (Class with Get/Set) 10,000 2113.11
Morphia (Class with Public Properties) 10,000 2368.37
Class emits BasicDBObject (get/set) 10,000 824.41
Class emits BasicDBObject (public properties) 10,000 816.07)
I almost never use mongo to store data, so I went with what I remembered from mongo.

Useful statistics though, thanks.
