I think that's a good choice. MC servers shouldn't be opened with only the intent of making a profit as it is hard to do. I personally suggest you just save your money (you may regret spending it later) but unless you really have your eyes set on making an MC server, have a plan, and know what it takes to run a server, it is wise not to. I've always wanted to have a huge factions PvP server... go on an alt and then just spawn OP crap for myself and dominate on my own server.I think that's a good choice. With that attitude you would probably make no money just so you know.
