As many of you may already know, Apple released their highly anticipated music streaming service today. It is available on iOS right now and later today will be available via iTunes on Windows and Mac. The service is scheduled to come to Android in the fall.

Personally, I love Apple Music as a streaming service and think it has real potential to be a Spotify killer, but the Beats1 radio station is meh right now. I think it will only appeal to hardcore radioheads. For people who just want music without the talking in between, will just ignore it.

Keep in mind, everyone gets a 3 month free trial!

Why? Apple bought Beats like a year ago and is phasing it out. Apple Music is the replacement.[DOUBLEPOST=1435774170,1435773947][/DOUBLEPOST]

This is a huge deal! Apple made a music streaming service (but also does music videos) to compete with Spotify and Rdio. Also, they revitalized classic radio with Beats1.

I'm preferring Spotify right now because:
- Spotify Student Discount means (50% off) $5/month Premium for the next 4 years. (For most this won't matter because if you're not a college student both services are $10/month)
- It's usable on all devices, PC, iPhone, Andriod, etc. Apple Music isn't available on Android (I have an Android tablet, but wouldn't consider myself an Android user)
- Spotify has some extra features and I find it a bit easier to use
- Spotify can stream at higher quality (up to 320kbps instead of Apple Music's 256kbps)

Only upsides to Apple Music I see is that it integrates your iPhone's music library right into the streaming service.
You can do this with Spotify, but it's a little more work.
However, I just use Spotify and don't actually download any music to my iPhone music library, so this isn't really a big deal for me at the moment.

Also, Apple Music has The Beatles and Taylor Swift, Spotify doesn't.

Apple Music and Beats1 is coming to Android in the fall. Can you really tell a difference between 256 and 320kbps? Finally, Apple Music actually doesn't have the Beatles YET, but you are right about Taylor Swift.

That's bs, I have some beats studio headphones and can't tell the difference.
That's because beats are overpriced shitty headphones lmao. It litterally costs them $18 to make.
