IPhone X Max was a big shock to me, no significant new features and the overall changes were so little (over-looking the size) and the prices were so dramatically high for such a under progressed phone from the last, I would go for samsung.
It's called an S-Release.

They alternate between a new design every 2 years and an internal component update every year they don't do the new design. Next year they will release a main update again which will be the first big update since the iPhone X release and we know how big that was.

I still personally think this year specifically had less improvements.
I agree 100%. Apple should be using their resources on their phones as let's be honest, the iPad is the largest tablet ever released by a lot so the updates won't really affect the numbers. The only significant update this year was the new processor and bionic chip which is a huge update performance wise but for someone that isn't so technical they don't mind about what's in the phone, they want visual features and the only visual feature was the XS Max and the Gold color + XR colors.

I personally believe that rather than doing an S release every 2 years rather than a re-design they should stop S releases, and just put 1 year and 6 months between each release if they need more time and put a proper visual and internal update in the phone.

One thing I will say however is I saw the rumors for the new Samsung Foldable phone and apparently it will start at $1,750 so if you think the iPhone is expensive

At this point, buying Apple products is no longer about getting the best phone on the market. You are buying the brand which is why it is so expensive. Not saying the phones are not good, because they are, I'm simply saying Apple overprices their products because they know their fans will still purchase them. There are better phones on the market, for a much lower cost.

Must be embarassing for a 2017 IPhone 8 that retails for half the price of a note9 has a better CPU. Samsung is overral good but has worse battery and is not as reliable as apple(even though are both highly reliable).
Samsung has some of the best batteries on the market. Yes they had the scandal with the Note 7 but that was due to faulty chipsets allowing the battery to overcharge. What's letting Android down is the poor optimisation, so the battery degrades much faster than Apple devices as iOS is heavily optimised. A benefit of limiting your operating system to your own devices.
However, on Android you can do a lot more. Apple vs Samsung is whether you like simplicity or doing more.

I agree. Apple does need to step up and lower their prices however as time progresses we are seeing more and more companies such as Samsung trying to do the exact same thing, for example, pricing their new phone at $1,750 is crazy expensive. I personally buy the iPhone as I prefer the external design and OS design, also because I am a developer and create iOS apps I use Xcode on the Mac and the iPhone syncs with all apple products amazingly without any issues. I do think Apple is now becoming more independent with their software which isn't always a great thing as you can't get Xcode on Windows, you can't sync files on iPhone wirelessly on Windows etc only mac, you can only screen mirror on Apple devices etc...

It's almost as if they are getting way too comfortable staying in the 'top spot' and trying to release features to force people to switch over which is good in marketing terms but people deserve to make the decision. I personally use Windows for gaming, Mac for traveling/working on and the iPhone XS Max as my day to day phone although the upgrade from the X to XS isn't the best.

It's almost as if they are prioritizing their battery over other components like their OS. I will probably get hate for saying this but I have spoken to many Android users and almost all of them prefer the Apple OS over android as it's cleaner and easier to use.

This new foldable phone may be the turning point for Samsung, I don't know, nor does anybody else know however, in my opinion, it will tip the boat even further as I don't know why I would pay for a foldable phone with a screen on both sides for nearly double the iPhone XR price. In my opinion, the device looks ugly and I don't know anybody that would purchase it. But that's the risk of testing new technologies.

I am personally quite amazed at how close the stats were. I always thought Apple was the leading company by far but it's a lot closer than I imagined.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to preference. People prefer apple as the main Operating System looks better and some people prefer Samsung over the specifications of the device itself, or it could be the other way around? Statistics can't prove what's the best device as it's preference and some people like parts on Samsung, and others like parts on Apple.

I would say Android over IOS, better customizations.
No issue with the Bluetooth system, although Apple looks classy but getting a Samsung is better with stuff like Sharing, Downloading other than if you want to stick to Itunes (Pay to get albums).
