We are holding this convention because we feel that it’ll be a great way for us to not only grow as a community, but also to help you to get clients for your businesses through being a panellist! Although Minecon is great, its community and guests certainly aren’t entrepreneurial and intelligent like our community is!
What date will the convention be on?
Although we don’t have an exact date scheduled, we are hoping to have it on a weekend some time near August 1st, 2017 -- our 3 year anniversary! If you have any thoughts about this or would like it at a different time then we can discuss that too!
How can I support this convention?
Thank you very much for asking, theoretical person! As I’m sure you know, hiring out a convention centre is an extremely expensive thing to do, especially over a weekend. To be able to do this we will need the support of the community and enough expressions of interest in order to go through with MCMCon! We are also hoping to get many people buying booths and sponsors for the convention.
How long are you going to have the convention go for?
As we’ve said above, we’re looking to have it over the course of a weekend, most likely over two days so that you get the most out of your $79.95 USD! Exact times for it haven’t been decided just yet.
Who will be there?
Given our member base with an industry average of 5% we’re expecting around 2500 people to come to the event. All staff members are going to be flown over to the convention to make sure that we’re able to give support! So far the staff that have confirmed that they will be flying over include Shattered, Teg, thebaum64, Justis, Myiume, d3l3t3d, Lyphiard, Doge, M6Gaming, and Mick! We are extremely excited to meet you all!
What should I bring?
You just need to bring yourself! Money would also help so that you can come to our MCMCon dinner night and purchase some exclusive MCMCon merch!
Will there be any merch for sale?
Absolutely! We’re hoping to give out a MC-Market keychain to all people who come to the convention. Brainstorming is still going on for what other merchandise we will be releasing, but exclusive MCMCon 2017 posters signed by all of the staff team will be for sale for $20 each.
EVENTS
What events will you be holding?
Throughout the two days the convention is going on we hope to have several panels for builders, server setup specialists, plugin developers, OG Minecraft account sellers, Semi-OG Minecraft account flippers, domain sellers, server configurators, website developers, server investors, advertisers, system administrators, website designers, website developers, middlemen, and username snipers.
Contests are also something we are extremely interested in to give back to the fabulous and skilled members of the community. Building, development, art, server setups, and loan contests are going to be hosted throughout the weekend event.
What will the prize for contests be?
All people who come first, second, or third in contests will receive a Contest Winner medal to show off on MC-Market and a $100 PayPal gift voucher with a trophy!
CONVENTION CENTRES
What convention centre will it be at?
We haven’t yet decided which convention centre we want to host MCMCon at unfortunately. We are trying to find one that is a balance between being affordable and luxurious so we can be sure that everyone enjoys their time at MCMCon 2017. We are currently thinking that we like the idea of hosting the event at either Anaheim Convention Centre, Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, or the Las Vegas Convention Center.
How did you pick these convention centres?
We decided to single down the convention to one of these particular centers through copious amounts of research into their price and reviews they’ve received by other people.
Won’t hiring a convention centre be expensive?
Yes, just the base cost alone will be about 50K US for a space at place such as Anaheim. This is without any setup, signage and marketing.
Will there be any food at the venue?
The food at the venue has not been decided. We have sent out a few tenders and specifications, and are waiting for responses. They are having difficulty with our request to make sure all food items are square and can be stacked. We will also be having a dinner for people from MC-Market to attend on the last night of the convention, so put aside $50 or so for that!
TICKETS
When can I buy tickets?
Tickets aren’t yet for sale. We hope that we will be able to get enough expressions of interest before we hire the convention, so if you’re interested please let us know! Once we have enough expressions of interest we will sell tickets directly through MC-Market and will alert you when we start.
How will I receive my rainbow name colour?
When you come to the convention you will be given a codes that you can enter into the site to get your rainbow name colour. Please note that you are not allowed to sell these codes.
How did you come up with $79.95 price tag?
Our goal with this convention was to make it as affordable as possible, and with a price tag of just $79.95 I think that we did a pretty good job of it!
Can I get a bulk discount?
Sure. If you’d like to get a bulk discount for 5 or more tickets, please send a PM to MCMCon and we will arrange pricing for it.
COSTUME CONTEST
What should I dress up as?
You should dress up as anything you like! You’ll get bonus points if it relates to MC-Market and is creative though. Lemon trees seems like it’ll be a popular choice!
Who will be judging the contest?
The contest will be judged by all MC-Market staff members based on a number of criteria, including effort, appearance, skill, idea, and whether it relates to MC-Market.
What will the prize be?
The prize for this will be a contest winner medal and a $50 PayPal giftcard.
Is there anything that I can’t dress up as?
Our only requirement is that you dress up appropriately. This means your costume has to not harass anyone or break any rules on the site.

Will you accept booth applications?
We certainly will! If you’re a build team, server setups team, hosting company, or just offer a great service, please send a PM to MCMCon for us to review!
What sort of booths will you offer?
We will just be offering 1 standard size for our booths unless you’re a sponsor of the convention.
Are you accepting sponsorships?
Why yes, yes we are! Hosting this convention for the community will be extremely expensive and wouldn’t be possible without a good sponsor for the convention! We’re looking for a sponsorship of $10,000 USD to cover some costs of the convention centre and in return we’ll name the convention MCMCon 2017 - Sponsored by _________. Hype!

Will anything else be occurring at the convention?
There will be a very special surprise and announcement made at MCMCon 2017 as it will be our 3 year anniversary since MC-Market was founded. You’ll just have to wait and find out what it is!
I can’t get to the convention! Can I still see what’s happening?
Unfortunately we won’t be livestreaming or creating videos of the convention officially, so you’ll have to come to experience MCMCon.
