Are making Minecraft servers still worth while? Could you make profit? Is Minecraft dying?

Hey guys. The title lists everything I’d like to know. I’m wanting to open a kitpvp server but am unsure if it is still profitable, or generally worth it to make a server in 2018. PLEASE MESSAGE ME ON DISCORD AS WELL

Yeah I agree but for example I have a ton of unique factions ideas, and I know a lot of kids always say it but mine actually are game changing and never seen before, however, they would cost an absolute fortune to develop and implement so yeah unless you have a serious budget and the necessary skills and people it's probably not a good idea.

If you want to I say go for it, losing some money (in the event that it doesn’t go well) isn’t much compared to the experience it’ll bring

I don't think it's dead at all! I think players are just sick of joining the same old server! It can be very much worth your time if you have the budget and patients to make something truly new! something that players haven't seen before. You need to give them a reason to want to stay on your server. Give them things they can't find on any other server, then. You will see the profits!

This is basically what everyone else has said, but I thought I was done with Minecraft until a friend showed me a server with a bunch of custom plugins and new items brought into the game. Also very grindy which I enjoy. Basically yes there is still a possibility if it is unique to make profit.
