Hello all,

After a LONG break I'm back and I'm wondering. Are mc servers even worth it? Within 5 mins on here I've seen loads of people asking for co-owners for servers that they quite obviously want to own but can't pay for. I know people who make very good money from their servers but is it even possible to make any money from them anymore unless you are 100% unique or have loads of money to invest.

Just wanna know everyones thoughts :)

If you know what you're doing, nowadays you can't really get away with creating a shitty factions server.

With the proper effort and dedication it certainly is, but the standard is higher than it was in the previous years.

Depending on the idea itself, yeah of course! Ideas themselves are harder to think of and are quite over-saturated at this point though so bringing something new to the game would probably be beneficial.

Still worth i think but you have to inovate, pvp/faction hype is out, now is mini-games and others things that work.

You can also if you have a real budget pay a good team to develop custom game like DayZ, Fortnite, or somethings like that :)

Certainly worth, but definitely depends on many factors such as dedication, funds, etc.

If you work well on your minecraft server, it could be, but you have a big chance to fail.

If you have money or contacts (or the means to do everything yourself), then yes.

Everyone is just doing the same thing. Nobody is original anymore. Bring something new to the table, and your in business
That's not really the case, a lot of very unique servers never reach triple-digit numbers. It's all about how much money you can put into marketing at the end of the day. Sticking with the classical gamemodes and adding some minor twists works really well, especially if you have a lot of funds.

Most definitely, but you have to put more work into it these days because you're competing against people who have established a following and reputation for themselves. Cookie-cutters don't cut it anymore.

One important factor is knowing who your audience is and having a vision for what you want. There are 140 million monthly Minecraft players - someone out there will probably be interested in what you're creating and even spend money on it, but you've got to find them and give them a reason to stick around after they join.

Let’s get a team going and generate ideas. I’m down for it lmao. To answer your question, yes you can own a server and make it successful if you put effort and money into it
