Are MC Websites still worth all the trouble?

NamelessMC seems to be a good (and free) alternative to Xenforo and Enjin if you're going to make a website but want to cut back on costs

Honestly don't make forums website even if it's free especially when your server is just starting up it's one more thing that needs to be set up and staffed and if you have a small server there is not a big point to do it. Just use discord as you can do most of the stuff that you would use the forums for on it and most of the time player won't even use it as they don't want to make a separate account on the forums which makes the forums look dead which can be bad when you are starting up.
but I would recommend just making a portal page that has links to your ban page, staff application which can be done by google forms, store link, and lastly a page with all your vote links that's all you really need IMO.

If you really want a forum just use PhpBB and spend like 25$ on a nice theme.
