Are people legitimately scared of mods?

Hello I am trying to get a staff team together for my server. But when ever I go advertising that I am recruiting staff I get no replies, on here or anywhere. And if I put that it has mods in the title I get 10 views when all the threads posted that day have gotten 3 or 4 replies. I just don't understand, I cannot run a server without staff but I can't get a staff team because people don't like mods. Can someone answer or help me on this? Please feel free to call me out on this if I am wrong.

EDIT: By mods I mean modifications to minecraft servers and clients such as Tinkers Construct.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Uh... sorry I don't quite understand what you mean by "mods"...
  • Moderators on MC-Market?
  • Moderators on your server?
  • Client Modifications?

I am guessing that a main issue that you are having is either:

A: You provide little/no information about the server.
B: People simply do not want to play on your server (It can be a lot of extra work to install/use a modified client)
C: You have little/no reputation. People are more likely to seek out servers posted by higher rep people.

I, myself, personally don't like taking the extra step and installing "said" mod to be able to play on your server.
I'm more of a click and go play kind of person and don't like to be held within certain restrictions.

You dont have to, All you have to do is download the technic launcher and then put in my pack code.[DOUBLEPOST=1464925537][/DOUBLEPOST]

First of all the server has custom terrain, towny warfare, custom currencies, roleplay and a very outside of the box theme. Secondly no one has played on the server because it is in development so it has no players (so I needs a development team which is what Im trying to achieve)[DOUBLEPOST=1464925595][/DOUBLEPOST]it*

Well for me, I just simply don't like mods. I play minecraft for what it is, why modify the game ? I don't mind plugins and things to enhance a server and give it a theme (e.g. factions, economy, skyblock) but it's just not playing minecraft if it's a modified version. That's why I get so annoyed when people message me telling me that they will help me make my server successful by turning it into a pixelmon server -.-

Pixelmon is a bit too game changing for me to be considered a mod. But other mods just add features to the original game so that plugins arent the only thing changing the game. Also who ever came to you saying that your server will be successful by turning it into pixelmon should not even try to run a server because every server has its own thing.
