Hey, I'm genuinely curious what are your thoughts on starting a minecraft server today. It fells like the community is oversaturated with servers at this point, and that most servers that made the name for themselves by now are only ones that retain players for longer periods of time. While new ones even tho they have some good and innovative ideas usually burn out in few months.

Completely agree. On most server lists there are over 300 separate pages and many of the servers have great ideas but people never see them at all. For example theirs a server called ElytraForce that's insanely well codded and has tons of custom plugins and game modes but it only has like 7 players max on at a time. Basically, the only way to get players to a new server at this point is to advertise the crap out of it or have a famous Youtuber play on it.

The issue isn't that there are too many servers. The issue is that there are way too many P2W garbage ones. We need more quality out here in the Minecraft server space

A lot people are saying to be original, but that's extremely hard at this point since most things you can think of have already been done. Also the reason most servers are P2W is since people are looking to profit from it, i doubt anyone will invest a lot of there time and money into making a good server without expecting some profit in return. Players usually dont like P2W but from a business point i can understand it, although its hard to avoid making your server look like a P2W and also making a profit.

It’s really unfortunate in that sense because I’ve seen countless servers that have put so much effort into their development and are outperformed by garbage servers that simply paid youtubers to advertise them.
