This thread is a whole mess. We have people gatekeeping depression (the fuck?), people who have never been depressed telling us how to fix it, and people telling us to just shrug it off.
Was not exactly the mean of this thread, but we can found some good "solutions" for exemple the message of Kram that is really good.
(No one who is replaying to this thread is experienced with depression and there isn't any expert/specialist of depression on this thread (for now)).

It's interesting seeing what does people think about the depression, and how is seen the meaning of depression.

The fact that you say you have depression yes or no doesn't change a single thing about your situation. You need to find a way to deal with the stuff you're going through. And yes it can be very very hard but you need to deal with it. And I am here to help you out if you need any help: Sylver#5704. Yes depression is a very serious thing and yes there are many people that don't really know what depression really is, but instead of figuring out what you exactly have try to deal with what is causing it. Everyone has a reason for feeling the way they do. And of course many of the times you don't have a choice but we could try figuring out what could make you happy, finding a hobby or something like that. Once again I am here for anyone that needs a friend or someone to talk to. This is my discord: Sylver#5704.[DOUBLEPOST=1618053981][/DOUBLEPOST]I am just trying to say that yes maybe you don't actually have a depression or maybe you do it doesn't change the fact that you feel shitty and that you would like to change that.

I think being "depressed" has turned into just the major side of the spectrum (ie: Suicidal thoughts, etc.) but a lot of people forget about situational depression a type of depression that can hit you at certain times in your life (the death of a family member, stress, etc.) or minor depression. I think these two are the most common forms of depression, and to those who think they are depressed, you very well could be just not to the extent that the general public perceives it to be and how the media portrays "depression". Depression in simplest terms is a feeling of sadness or loss of interest in everyday activities, and I experienced this last month. I was unmotivated with life, felt sad, and stressed about my future, and I didn't know how to move forward, but when I spoke with my family and friends, that feeling just went away and I was able to move on to this point in time.

If you're ever feeling sad or depressed, don't undermine your feelings as you know your feelings best. If you think you're depressed, talk with your family/friends or a doctor, or hell reach out to me and we can have a nice chat: Alistair#4081

There is always light at the end of the tunnel, you just need to reach out and take it. Stay safe everyone, and most importantly be happy. <3

This can be a very tough and sensitive topic to be talking about for a lot of people, especially on this platform I wouldn't go making threads on it tbh. However if you are going to, can everyone just remember that you can easily effect the way people feel by saying things here so just be careful <3

What do you mean? If you are depressed you should literally see a doctor... that's how it works..
If it does work in this way you don't think everyone who's depressed has just to get to the doctor and the problem is solved?

Jesus people are so stupid; If you are depressed you go to the doctor and get diagnosed then you can receive anti depressants that's how it works, stupid child.
Omg, I won't get to this, you are just saying I'm a stupid child in a pacific discussion.
Do you have any experience with the depression?
Are you an expert who's allowed to talk about the depression?
(I DON'T THINK SO)

I'm just assuming that if someone is depressed he rarely realize that he is depressed, so it's not simple for everyone to just realized and say "oh im so depressed, my life is bad! I can solve this just by going to a doctor" but they mainly get "redirected" to the suicide or other things.

This is a complex argument so before saying anything before think, this thread was not really planed for discussing about how depressions works but just to how many people think that they are depressed.
We are not experienced with depression so please do not talk about depression assuming things without having experience.

I want to add that if you're feeling depressed, or even sad, you're not alone. There are many out there with the same feelings. Keep pushing.

Best wishes,
