Hey, it's Adrien and no I'm not here to shit post like the other time.

I'm getting into web dev because I've always wanted to be a developer and web dev looks very interesting and apparently pretty needed. Do you guys have any tips for a noobie? Any good resources too learn, guides, software, etc...
Even little motivational messages would be great haha
I'm probably gonna take the CodeCademy Web Developement Career Path growth. I've read and seen that after this course, you're pretty much ready to go and it's cheap: https://www.codecademy.com/learn/paths/web-development
Let me know!

Thanks, Adrien

MTG and GHOST pls teach me (they are the only one ik does web dev here)

PebbleHost
High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Don't be afraid to Google stuff.

Comment your code well. Your future self will thank you.

Don't let courses be everything you're doing. I personally learn way better by challenging myself with projects there are no tutorials for. That way you have to figure stuff out yourself. They're a good starting point though.

My favorite software for coding is vscode, but there are other alternatives that might suit other people better. Look around.

W3schools is a great resource - look into that. Can't really comment on codecademy, as I've not used it very much.

When searching for info, look at the dates of the threads. Often you'll find something from 2004 with completely irrelevant information.

Thanks for writing this, and yeah ik the better way to learn is to do by itself and to not follow courses but I'm a beginner and before doing that I'd like to know the basics.

Courses like that are a great start, yes, but as soon as you get the basics I would try something for myself. This doesn't mean that I'd stop the course. Instead, I would do a mix. Just following a course tends to leave out important aspects of the real problem-solving skills needed.

Thank you for these tips, will definitely do things on my own once I have the basics set ;)

Good luck! If you need any help, send me a PM or add me on Discord and I'll see what I can do.
