So I joined the assethosting.org discord, and I confronted the staff about them re-selling a service from soyoustart, they then told me that they just happened to have the exact same specs as soyoustart, and that they owned the hardware. I asked for a test ip, to perform a traceroute and see if it was in any way routed through OVH dns, they provided me with this ip for the server 47.206.91.222 so I did a lookup and the ip is provided by frontier communications in a Florida apartment. I know this because one of their support reps (Tristan) told me that the servers were operated in an apartment, and with the highest tier plan from frontier communcations, so the company has admitted to not operating an a SAS70 certified data center, and that they have no ddos mitigation in place as they run in an apartment. I looked it up and frontier communications does not even offer 250Mbps fiber in their location, so even if they did have exact specs of the soyoustart service, they are lying about their so called "mini data center" having a high volume connection.

I can as if you are starting off, you do not have a large budget to afford any sort of bgp routing equipment, or scrubbing box for your internet connection with frontier, those can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, even more. And you offer the same exact specs as a service from ovh, with the same bandwidth speed, no other datacenter offers exactly 250Mbps on a co-location plan for a server. Even if you are some how offering the same specs at your "mini data center" in someones apartment, frontier communcations does not offer 250Mbps fiber connection in florida, that is not one of the tiers. So you are lying about reselling, lying about your so called "mini data center", and about having ddos protection.

I would like to first point out that not all companies choose to offer DDoS protection as it is not "always" a concern of potential buyers, so for you to bash these guys because they may or may not offer said feature is quite childish. Secondly, you are right: They do not have 250mbit internet, they are on a 500/500 Fiber optic connection that is indeed provided by Frontier as we are Enterprise Level Customers. Residential Level Fiber does not offer a Direct Fiber connection from the ONT (Optical network terminal) they in fact provide Fiber up to the Gateway, then from there it is distributed via Coax and from there to CAT5E or Cat6. Third and final point is we are in fact not located in an apartment, house or any residential area for that matter. We are located on the Second floor of a Highly secure building with 24/7 security monitoring, On-site Powder based fire suppression by Inergen suppression systems, a total of 14k VA Redundant battery backup as well as a 1mW caterpillar generator onsite with 250 gallons of Diesel fuel on standby. Our system has had so far a 100% uptime since we launched at the end of october and we currently have a solid 10GBIT Fiber network backbone which we use to offer clients automated backup solutions on site. Also, I should add: I cannot speak for your experience with the staff, but so far my experience tells me that they do care about providing a great service. They have spent a decent amount on web design, a custom theme for their minecraft panel (still in development) and simply making sure that things run smoothly. As their main hosting provider, I have to say it has been nothing short of a pleasure to provide services for them.

Honestly, why do you have to "contront" people from whoever they resell. It all comes down to personal opinion?

For the "no other datacenter offers the same bandwidth" bullshit, yes, we do, we just haven't got the same kind of backbone as OVH.
